Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Terrifying as Such

Stepping on the playground ground, despite it being just a single footprint, repairing it would require clearing a relatively large area around it. And even after the repairs, the ground wouldn't be as smooth as before. Li Nianlong was now looking at a hefty sum in compensation.

Although a coquettish female student offered to help him pay the fine under the condition of being his 'indoor disciple,' Li Nianlong didn't agree in the end. Despite not having much money himself, he had over seven million in his bank account, enough to cover the compensation.

Because of this incident, Li Nianlong suspended the class and let the students have free time. He went straight to the principal's office to report the matter and awkwardly expressed his willingness to compensate.

Upon hearing that Li Nianlong had stomped the asphalt concrete ground with one foot, the principal's initial reaction was disbelief. But considering it wasn't April Fools' Day and there was no reason for Li Nianlong to joke about it, the principal, with some suspicion, along with a few well-meaning teachers, went to the playground to see for themselves.

When they saw the footprint and the cracked ground, the principal and the teachers gasped in horror. They looked at Li Nianlong strangely, as if thanking him for the mercy he had shown them over the past two years...

"Principal, look..." Li Nianlong awkwardly asked, "How much should I compensate?"

Compensate? Dude, spare me!

The principal cleared his throat, "Let it go. It wasn't intentional, Li Lao Shi, and there's no need for compensation. The repair costs are already included in the school budget. Let's not make a big deal out of it!"

Might makes right. In the past, the principal would have demanded compensation, but Li Nianlong's terrifying ability to shatter the ground with one foot was beyond belief. The principal had only seen such destructive power in true martial arts masters before. And masters of this level were precious assets to any family. As long as Li Nianlong was willing, he could join any of the top ten families at any time and become an elite member. Such a figure was not someone a mere principal could afford to offend.

Li Nianlong was somewhat surprised, but since the principal didn't want compensation, he was happy to comply. However, it was a bit tough on the students of Class 1 of Grade 2. With this matter settled, the bell for the end of class rang, and seeing the resentful looks from those mischievous kids, Li Nianlong felt a bit chilly.

No matter what the news was, it spread terrifyingly fast on campus. In just one short break between classes, news of Li Nianlong stomping the ground had spread throughout the entire school. By the end of the day, almost all teachers and students had rushed to the playground to see the footprint left by Li Nianlong. After seeing it, they were all astonished, and Li Nianlong became the topic of discussion among teachers and students during their spare time for some time to come.

But that's a story for another time.

After the third period, Li Nianlong went to the restroom to check out the new life occupation he had obtained.

Body Technique Practitioner (Novice 0%): Able to precisely control the strength and flexibility of the body.

The introduction was simple, but the content was astonishing. Precisely controlling the strength and flexibility of the body—aside from strength, wasn't flexibility...

At this moment, there was no one else in the restroom. Li Nianlong walked into the corner stall, rubbed his fingers and wrists, raised his right hand, bent his palm backward... backward... backward... to Li Nianlong's astonished gaze, his hand back and arm folded back 180 degrees, aligning perfectly.

As he raised his wrist, his palm returned to its original position. Li Nianlong found that his wrist hadn't been broken, nor did he feel any pain. Then he bent his fingers backward 180 degrees and achieved the same success. Finally, Li Nianlong recklessly turned his head backward until it rotated 180 degrees, as if a robot had installed its head backward.

"It's terrifying!" He twisted his neck back, finding no discomfort whatsoever. Li Nianlong couldn't help but marvel at the power of the Body Technique Practitioner occupation. No wonder all four attributes would increase. Just making the body as flexible as a noodle made someone a hundred times stronger than those who had practiced bone reduction techniques for a lifetime.

And this was just testing flexibility; he hadn't even tried hardness yet. Li Nianlong looked around, still no one there, so he deepened his left index finger and forcefully stabbed the nearby partition. There was a sound of puncture as his finger pierced through the thick wooden board. Apart from feeling a slight numbness from the impact, Li Nianlong felt no discomfort.

"It's too terrifying!" This was just a novice Body Technique Practitioner, and Li Nianlong could hardly imagine how powerful intermediate, advanced, master, or even perfect level practitioners would be.

Precisely controlling the strength and flexibility of the body, Body Technique Practitioner was indeed terrifying.

At this moment, someone entered the restroom. Li Nianlong stopped experimenting and walked out of the stall to wash his face and tidy his hair. It had been two months since he last groomed himself, and his hair had grown longer, making him look even more handsome.

Some long-haired celebrities nowadays looked very handsome, but having short hair exposed their flaws, showing how much hairstyle could affect a person. But Li Nianlong was different; he had a great foundation. Even if he shaved his head, he would still be very handsome.

"Mr. Liu," as soon as he walked out of the restroom, he heard a familiar voice.

Turning around, Li Nianlong smiled, "It's you!"

A tall figure of 1.67 meters, sweet facial features, cute double ponytails, although dressed in a nondescript blue school uniform, couldn't hide her natural beauty and bright smile. This girl... who else could it be if not Lin Jie?

Lin Jie giggled, "Mr. Liu, I heard about it."

Since the incident with the old lady, they hadn't met again, nor had they contacted each other by phone. It was understandable; although their relationship was good, they were still teacher and student. Which student would call their teacher during the summer break to hang out? Of course, they would enjoy themselves first and then talk about hanging out with the teacher later.

Lin Jie thought the same way. That summer, she had a great time. As for meeting Li Nianlong? Well, here they were!

"I heard what?" Li Nianlong smiled slightly, walking towards the playground.

Lin Jie quickened her pace to catch up, "I heard that Mr. Liu left a footprint on the hard ground with just one foot, and the ground cracked open." Saying this, Lin Jie took two quick steps ahead of Li Nianlong, turned around to face him, walked backward, and looked up at him with admiration, "Mr. Liu, I didn't know you were not only good at basketball but also so skilled! Can you teach me?"

Li Nianlong knew that the students at Tianfu

No. 3 Middle School were not exactly well-behaved. While the boys wanted to be heroes, the girls also wanted to be heroines. They thought being righteous and heroic was so cool and romantic, not realizing how many fools had been embarrassed by antagonists throughout history.

"You want to learn?"

"I want to learn." Lin Jie nodded eagerly.

Li Nianlong stopped walking.

"What's wrong?" Lin Jie also stopped, looking at him curiously.

"Watch your step." Li Nianlong pointed behind her.

Lin Jie turned around to see who had thrown a banana peel right behind her, just one step away from her heel. If she had taken one more step, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

"Who's so inconsiderate? Ugh, I hate it!" Lin Jie angrily muttered a few words, picked up the banana peel, and threw it into the trash can, then hurriedly thanked Li Nianlong, "Thank you, Mr. Liu, or else I would've been in trouble."

"You better not learn martial arts." Li Nianlong shook his head, continuing to walk forward, passing Lin Jie.

"Why not?" Lin Jie caught up, "Mr. Liu, why can't I learn? I don't want to be a heroine, but I want to have some self-defense skills!

"Is it just for self-defense?" Li Nianlong stopped again.

"What else could it be?" Lin Jie shrugged, "Come on, I'm already this old. I'm past the prime age for martial arts training. Having some means of self-defense is enough."

Li Nianlong chuckled, "I overthought it."

Lin Jie, after all, was just a fourteen-year-old girl. Hearing these words made her blush, but she didn't want Li Nianlong to notice. She hurriedly said, "It's true that people say so, but I still feel having some martial arts skills would boost my confidence."

"Confidence leads to recklessness." Li Nianlong smiled faintly, not teasing her about her blushing, changing the subject, "And soon, I won't be a teacher anymore. I won't have time to teach you martial arts."
