The distraught woman finally took notice of him. Her eyes were filled with fire. "What? You came to try to convince me too?!"
Moon was stunned by her fiery gaze. He was so used to the princess looking at him with fondness and care that he had forgotten she could be like this as well. He scoffed coldly. Yes, ever since Dae had shown up, this woman barely gave him the light of day.
He was the joke of the entire palace. Because he was treated like a prized possession by the princess, he had forgotten himself completely. He let himself develop feelings for her, and now he was paying the price for his gullibility. To her, he would never be anything more than a plaything, one that could easily be replaced.
Moon suddenly regretted coming here. When he heard that the princess was going through a tough time, he rushed over to comfort her. But wasn't she still treating him coldly in the end? In her eyes, he wasn't worth acknowledging.
"I wasn't." He glanced briefly at the shattered fragments on the floor. "Don't step forward; you'll hurt yourself."
Yes, even if she didn't hold him in her heart, in the end, she was still the person he cared about. The one who had taken him in and given him a home when no one else wanted him.
Her dark eyes stared at him intently, but it seemed like she couldn't see him at all. She raised a hand and wiped away the tears in her eyes, then lowered her hand. Kira gripped the fabric of her robes; the material threatened to tear due to her force.
"I don't understand..." she whispered.
Why? Why couldn't she be allowed one moment of rest? She'd been working for that monster since she got out of high school. After enduring years of bullying from him in school, she still had to tolerate him at work.
And even in her dreams, she couldn't be given a moment to breathe?! She had thought that this dream might be a blessing from God—a way for her to escape her torturous daily life. But now she was expected to marry someone she hadn't even met?!
It didn't make sense!
She couldn't help laughing at how ridiculous everything was. If she never returned to her world, did that mean she'd be forced to marry?
"Princess." A hand touched her sleeve. Kira hadn't noticed Moon moving towards her. His beautiful face was very close to hers, his long eyelashes casting a shadow over his cheeks. His appearance was even more appealing than that of the actresses Kira had seen. He managed to look like a fairy effortlessly.
And that fairy was standing so close to her that she could feel his breath against her skin. Moon smelled of flowers and fresh air. His long dark hair, which flowed behind him, was very alluring; it made one want to run their fingers through it. Against her better judgment, she found herself mesmerized.
Moon saw the princess staring up at him in a daze, and he couldn't help the curl of his lips. He held her hand and slowly guided her toward the bed.
"It must be hard for you to accept this decision. But you are the princess, you carry the responsibility of your kingdom. You mustn't let them down."
"I was right. You did come to convince me."
"No, I..."
"Do you know that if I marry that..." She paused, realizing she had no idea who she was even going to marry. But it didn't matter. "The harem, um... all of you... what are you guys going to do?"
"The princess worries about us? I'm very happy."
"This is a serious matter." A frown appeared on her beautiful face. The smile on Moon's face dropped. He sighed as he brought her hand to his face. His skin was very soft to the touch. Once again, Kira was mesmerized by the beauty in front of her.
"Actually, I don't want you to do this either. But you have a choice here. The princess doesn't necessarily have to accept this marriage proposal unless she wishes to."
"Of course not!"
She didn't even need to think about it. Why would she want to get married to some no-good demon? From what she'd seen of this world so far, she didn't even want to know what the title of "demon" might imply. Maybe something out of hell!
Her mind conjured up images of an ugly monster with a hideous face and large, scary horns, something that would want to drag her to hell! No, she couldn't accept this marriage proposal.
But for the sake of putting on a farce, lest someone discover that she wasn't the real princess...
While Kira was deep in thought, Moon's gaze was focused on her exposed neckline. Due to her tantrum, her clothes were disheveled. Her robes, which were usually meticulously fitted to her body, were loose, showing a good portion of her fair neck and even a bit of cleavage.
Moon's eyes darkened, and he couldn't help leaning forward. A sweet fragrance hit him, making his mouth water. He wanted to close the space between them and taste the princess's skin, to see whether she tasted as sweet as she smelled.
He might be rumored to be the princess's favorite consort, but the truth was that they had never been intimate before. The princess had a perverse reputation around the palace. It was said that she enjoyed playing with beauties, but the truth was that this little virgin was afraid of even kissing. He had tried on multiple occasions, but she would always back out.
Now, he was desperate for a taste...
Kira noticed the other person getting closer to her. Her eyes widened in shock when Moon's cool lips brushed against her collarbone. "What are you doing?!" she exclaimed, her body tense.
"Princess, I just feel that you've had a troublesome day. Why... don't you let me make it better?"
Moon's voice was very flirty and suggestive. He watched her through narrowed eyes. Coupled with the slight curl of his red lips, it gave off a very seductive aura.
As a woman who had been working herself to the bone every day, Kira didn't have time for any romantic affairs. Dae had made her sign a contract to not even think about dating while working for him, so it had never crossed her mind.
She had never kissed anyone before. And when faced with Moon's advances, she was not only very flustered but curious as well. What would it feel like to kiss someone? Would it be as good as they make it seem in the movies?
When her consort finally closed the space between them, she didn't push him away.
She felt a pair of soft, cool lips against her own. The sensation made her heart race. Moon pulled back slightly to take in her expression, his lips curling up further before he kissed her again. This time he didn't hold back.
He bit gently on her lower lip, causing her to gasp. He used the opportunity to slip his tongue into her mouth.
It was like tasting the most intoxicating wine ever. It was incredibly addictive!
