Chereads / The Heiress And Her Husbands / Chapter 2 - 30 times

Chapter 2 - 30 times

Just after George's warning, a lady walked into the scene with a little girl who went straight to her mother.

"Mama," her cute innocent voice could be heard by the four adults surrounding her.

"My baby," Natasha squatted so she could reach her daughter's level. "How is my baby doing? Do you like the party?" She asked, stroking her daughter's hair and smiling at her.

Tristan stood there watching his ex-wife talking to a little girl. Then it struck his mind that he had left her with a newborn baby four years ago. This made his heart race.

He never knew Natasha was the daughter of the CEO who owned the company he was working for until he heard the news recently and he came back rushing, hoping she would still be in love with him and waiting.

But to his surprise, she had moved on and was coincidentally getting married on his birthday and after his return.

Tristan, however, wasn't ready to give up. He believed he could manipulate Natasha to be his again. He didn't know much about her new husband, George but for some reason, he felt like George wouldn't be a problem in his journey to get Natasha back.

"Meet your Papa, baby," Natasha announced to her daughter after speaking to her for a while.

Tristan's heart began to beat fast because he was the girl's biological father but Natasha shocked him even more by introducing George as his daughter's father.

George waved at the little girl at first, with a friendly smile after she raised her head to look at him. Then he went down to her level, lifting his hand for a high-five.

Seeing this, the little girl, Rebecca, didn't hesitate to lift her hand to return the high five. "Are you my Papa?" Her cute voice sent an arrow to George's heart.

"I am your Papa. I'm sorry that I'm showing up now but now that I'm here, I'll shower you and your Mom with love, trust me. In Fact, I have a big gift for you," George made Rebecca even more excited by mentioning 'big gift.'

"Do you want to see the gift I have for you?" He asked.

"Yes," she nodded her heart-shaped head.

George grabbed her by her armpit and lifted her as he went back to his feet. "Stay here with Papa and when the party's over, we'll go and check the big gift I have for you," making her rest in one of his arms while tickling her gently, he said.

"Is that okay, my princess?"

Rebecca nodded her head, giggling because George was tickling her. She enjoyed how high she was from the ground and it was because of this tall man with fine beards around his jaws who she now calls her father.

Rebecca wasn't good with words yet but she was trying her best to communicate well in English.

Natasha was touched by George's behavior toward her daughter. She suddenly wished that her daughter's real father was this loving to her and ready to win her heart.

She didn't expect this much from George and it suddenly made her happy because his actions and attitude caused her to thank her instinct for choosing George.

George took Natasha's hand as he was leaving Tristan's presence.

Tristan watched them leave, knowing he'd still call Natasha aside to discuss some things with her. And he hated George for winning his ex-wife and daughter's heart so easily.

'He even knows my name, Natasha must have told him so many things about me,' thought Tristan to himself as he watched them greet other guests.

Natasha and George ended up in a room with Rebecca still in George's hand.

Natasha sat on the edge of the bed first, looking at the ring around her fingers. She couldn't stop thinking about her first marriage and the fact that her ex-husband was around made her feel even more awkward.

Her heart was broken but she refused to admit it to herself. She just kept looking at her hand and the ring until she heard her daughter giggling loudly behind her.

'George,' she thought about him again and realized how good her decision was and then she turned around to face them but George was sitting close to her on the bed, holding a rose.

"I know about your ex-husband," he confessed. "I know you did your research about me and I also have my ways of knowing about people too so I checked about you. I know that he's the father of your…"

"I don't want to talk about it," she mentioned.

"I understand," George went closer to her but was keeping an eye on Rebecca to make sure she didn't make a dangerous move or play with any sharp object.

He got her some dolls to play with and a playhouse for them, knowing she'd definitely love it.

He got Natasha a gift too but didn't know how to present it to her yet because she seemed unhappy.

"Today is his birthday," Natasha uttered, rubbing her hands together.

"I know," George replied.

"How much do you know?"

"I know you love chocolates, pizza, and dumplings."

"What are you? A stalker or what?" Natasha was surprised at how much he knew about her.

"I'm your husband now and I also want to do a good job for my wife and daughter," he winked at her. "Now, now, women…I mean as a bride, my darling, you are supposed to be happy after your marriage." He took her hand gently and kissed her knuckles.

"Let's go out for the photos," he climbed off the bed first and then took her hand to bring her out of the bed.

"Thank you, George, for doing your best," Natasha felt grateful.

"Will this make you increase my pay next month?" He teased her.

"Well, we'll see," she replied.

"Then, I should work hard to hear my boss say 'I'm impressed. Here, I increased your pay 30 times the original!'"

"That's impossible, George! Who increases the pay 30 times the original?!" She was laughing out loud.

"My boss…I mean my wife should be able to do that."

He now brought his hand to her waist, looking into her blue eyes and bringing her closer to his body.

"George, what are you doing?" Natasha questioned because he wasn't only pressing her body to his but bringing his face closer to hers and touching her sensitively.

"My daughter is still here," she said with a hoarse breath.

"I know and I don't plan to do anything yet. Don't be naughty and yes, call me baby, honey, or daddy, I'm your husband now," George pulled away gently from her and winked at her.

Natasha didn't expect George to act this way with her. 'Call him baby? Daddy? Honey?' she thought.

Natasha watched him go to his daughter, carry her, and come back to hold her hand so they could leave the room together. They are a family now.
