Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Training Pt.3

"Alright, let's just monitor him for the rest of the day. If things change, then we will remove the weapon," Steffen said

"I guess we really have no other choice," Chris muttered in defeat.

"You guys still haven't told me why you were panicking," I interjected

"Because that tattoo you have is a soul weapon called Baskerville. The reason I panic is because that weapon is known to kill the user," Chris said

"That's what you meant with the draining blood and life force," I said slightly nervous

"Yes, but somehow you are not affected," Steffen added.

"From what we can tell so far, you are unaffected, but we will monitor to see if anything changes," Chris said, giving Steffen a side-eye.

"I told you he will be fine. Let him resume classes if anything happens then you can tell the others," Steffen said standing up and putting on his coat

"Where are you going?" Chris asked

"I have some work to do; if anything happens before I get back then inform any of the others and they will deal with it," Steffen said opening his office door

"Also Virgil I expect to hear good things," Steffen said with a small smile before leaving the room leaving Chris and me alone.

"Seriously; this man will drive me insane,": Chris sighed rubbing his head

"I apologize for causing you so many problems," I said walking up to Chris

Hearing my words Chris sighed again before replying "Don't worry about it kid I should have seen this coming by taking in one of his kids,"

Leaving the office we made our way back to the classroom we saw that it was empty and assumed the students went to the gym to practice using their weapons.

As we walked to the gym I kept looking down at the feather tattoo wondering if I was really at risk or was an anomaly.

Arriving at the gym we saw the students practicing on the metal dummies with their new weapons.

Seeing us walk in the substitute teacher ordered the students to stop.

"Alright, that's enough for now since your teacher has returned I will leave him under your care," the teacher said before walking away.

When the students saw me I could see the fear, anger a curiosity on their faces because of the scene that was caused earlier.

"Alright, I know you all are a little hesitant after what happened but everything has been dealt with and you guys are no longer in any danger," Chris explained somewhat calming down the class.

"Professor we have been thinking." One of the older students with short brown hair and a large muscular build said standing before the class

"Really. About what?" Chris asked interested

"...W-we believe that Virgil should not remain in our class. He may have experience with killing one demon but he still lacks the control to stay in our class and after the accident, he will only hold us back," the students explained

Hearing this Chris went silent for a few moments before replying to the students.

"Is that what you all think?" Chris asked

Slowly the students began raising their hands in agreement with the previous statement.

"I see. We will do this then pick one student to represent you and that student will spar against Virgil if you win Klaus will be placed in the beginner's classes," Chris said

"W-wait mister Chris I can handle benign in this class," I replied before Chris placed his finger over his mouth shutting me down.

Hearing this the class discussed it for a few moments before choosing the blonde-haired girl from the previous day.

"We chose Alison to represent us," the brown-haired boy spoke

Looking at the girl she gave me an arrogant grin showing that she was confident in her ability.

"Very well. The match will start in two minutes grab your training weapons," Chris said before pulling me to the side

"I can handle being in this class why did…" before I could finish Chris cut me off

"I only agreed show you could show that you belong in this class. Having the respect of your peers will allow teamwork in the future to be better. So show them that you belong in this class right next to them," Chris said with a determined look.

"I don't need their respect that won't change how well I fight," I replied

"...Just get ready for the fight," replied walking to the middle of the gym.

With a sigh, I went over to the training weapon rack and picked up a dagger. Looking over at Alison I saw that she picked up dual katanas.

Picking our weapons we both moved over to the ring that was now crowded by all the students in the gym.

"No this will be a friendly spar. The first one to knock over their opponent will win. Any excess attacks or any serious harm caused will be punished," Chris explained with a stern look

Acknowledging his rules he left the ring leaving me and Alison in the middle.

"You should give up now. You may be able to kill a dammed but it won't compare to fighting me," Alison said with a smug face

With a sigh, I replied " Do you always talk this much before a fight,"
