Episode 1- Innocence
A deal was made with the dragons all over the world. After a long war spanning 89 years, the humans and dragon kind formed a pact. The dragons, based on their element, ranging from heat, cold, water, lightning, earth, light, and darkness, dwell in their respective areas and do not enter the fertile lands and stone cities of the humans. Through the years of battle, loss, and victory, the humans learned to harness the power of the dragons, creating magical tools and weaponry of all elements in order to live normal lives or fight the dragons back. Grandoria is the largest and most powerful city in the world, being home to the warriors responsible for the deal made with the dragons for peace. The magic of the dragons was used so much and so potently that there were children born of pure human blood that displayed a random element of a dragon at the age of ten. One out of every five thousand humans would display an element of a dragon. To some, this was a blessing, but to others, it was a curse.
A young boy with black, wild hair named Kibo Watanabe is punched in the face by a much larger young boy while several other children watch. All nineteen children yell in a taunting manner while laughing. "Teno, hit him again!" a child yells. The open field all the children are in is usually used as a play area due to the low grass, but not this day. The sun is shining bright, but is blocked by the large boy standing over Kibo. Teno grabs kino by the shirt with his left hand and repeatedly punches Kibo in the face. "Finish him Teno", a young girl yells. Teno looks at the girl, then looks back at Kibo with a sinister grin, showing all of his teeth. A bloody Kibo can barely move and looks upwards through a swollen eye at the face of Teno. Kibo asks "Why? I only wanted to play". The comment enrages Teno as he gets irritated with the ignorance of Kibo. "Look at you. Your clothes are old, your hair is weird, and your family is cursed. Your dad is a pick pocket rotting in jail and everybody knows your mother is famous at the town brothel!" Kibo's swollen eyes raise up slightly as he knew his father was in jail and his mom left late at night for work, but he did not know why his father was in jail and what work his mom did to make ends meet while he was in jail. Teno walks closer to Kibo's laid out body. He grabs a large rock nearby and the screaming children gasp and fall silent. "You aren't human. your failure parents named you after hope, but you're nothing but a curse! You're no better than the dragons my father killed in the war!" Teno then lifts the rock high above his head.
Flash Forward Eleven Years to The Present Day
Kibo is twenty one years old. He is thin and wears a tuxedo. He wears a mask covering his his face, except for his mouth and jaw area. He is at a ball for the rich and famous. Warrior who have defeated dragons and there children all are in attendance. Kibo, along with three other waiters serve drinks, shine shoes, and polish the armor of the warrior of the war. The war ended nine years ago and those who left an impression are showered with royalties. The other waiters are wearing masks just like Kibo but the rich and famous do not. A beautiful woman in a sparkling red dress calls while looking towards Kibo, "Waiter, I would like a drink". Her dress is very form fitting, showing off her curvy body, with thin shoulder straps revealing a very endowed bust. Her hair is black but seems to have been glazed in a fine oil as it shines from the light coming from the large chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Her red lipstick and green eyes capture the eye of Kibo, although he tries not to show it. kibo paces over, extends the tray of cups towards the woman and quietly says, "M'lady". "No, no, please just call me Aki", says the woman. Kibo looks startled and nervous then stutters, "A-Aki-i". Aki notices the features of kibo's smooth, sharp, and young face even under the mask. "Is the rest of your face as refined as your jaw?" flirts Aki. "No, I mean yes...well I think so...well I don't know". Aki laughs and Kibo follows with and extremely nervous laugh. While Aki and Kibo continue light conversation, a large burly male warrior clad in rich golden armor is eating a piece of bread he grabbed from the nearby table of food. He is older, with a perfect tone of long white hair flowing down to his back. He has no facial hair, other than a long white mustache. His long red cape drapes behind him. The man bites into the bread while looking around at all in attendance to the ball. he notices Kibo and Aki laughing together. The large man looks away, disregarding the two. His eyes then grow wide as he spits out the bread and crushes the bread in his hands, making it burst into pieces. He then clenches his teeth and angrily stomps towards the two while they are still making light conversation. With eyes fixed on Kibo, he shoves into several people, easily forcing them out of the way. He throws his large red cape back while stomping closer to Kibo. "I can recognize that filthy, unkempt, cursed black hair anywhere", says the large man. This interrupts the conversation between Kibo and Aki, making Kibo turn around towards the man. Before Kibo could fully turn, the man rips the mask off of Kibo, lightly injuring Kibo in the process. As the mask comes off, a reddish scar can be seen coming from the top of Kibo's forehead to the middle of his forehead. The scar is about one inch long and looks healed mostly. With depressed eyes, Kibo looks at the man and immediately knows who he is. "General Teno Kenpachi", Kibo reluctantly says. "After what you did to my son, you dare show your face here!" says General Teno. With lightning speed, General Teno gives a solid punch to the face of Kibo, making Kibo fall to the ground with a bloody nose. "It wasn't my fault", Kibo musters.
Rewind to Eleven Years Ago
A young Kibo lays beaten in the low grass field, surrounded by berating children and barely able to move. Teno, the son of General Teno, holds a rock above his head with the intent to smash it on Kibo. The eyes of Kibo grow dark. He then closes his eyes and yells "Who cares what you think! Who cares what you see!". Kibo jerks his right hand forward in an attempt to block the rock with his last ounce of strength. A dark colored energy jaggedly snaps from the hand of Kibo and spills into the eyes of Teno. Teno screams out in pain as the large rock falls from his hands. The rock hits Kibo in the head creating a large bleeding wound on his forehead. Kibo falls unconscious as Teno still screams in pain. Dark light extends from the eyes of Teno, burning him ruthlessly. The dark light dissipates and the pain subsides. All of the children look in shock and horror. "I can't see. I....I can't see anything!" shouts Teno. All of the children run away from the terrifying scene, leaving Kibo and Teno in the open field.
Flash Forward Eleven Years to The Present Day
"Not only do you come from a disgraced family, you permanently blind my son. And now, YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO ACCOST THIS YOUNG LADY!?" shouts General Teno. All of the people at the ball turn to focus on the altercation. The General continues, "You ran into hiding for years, living off of scraps, on the run from persecution for your crimes, then you show up here, dawning a mask and accosting young women!" The crowd gasps in horror. "Pervert!" a woman yells. "Filthy scum in a mask", someone else yells. "Guards, apprehend this abomination and see him tried for his crimes!" says General Teno. Kibo looks up at Aki in desperation, "Tell them I didn't touch you Aki! Tell them the truth! I just came to make some coins to eat! I can't work anywhere else! I didn't do anything to anyone!" Aki puts her glass of wine over her mouth in disgust while making direct eye contact with Kino. Slightly nervous, she informs the approaching guards, "Take this perverted mess out of my sight." Two guards wearing fine bronze armor grab Kibo from the ground as Kibo screams in horror for his innocence. Kibo squirms roughly, irritating one of the guards holding him. The guard gives Kibo five solid punches to the head, knocking Kibo unconscious as he is carried away.
An apple hits Kibo in the face, followed by a tomato that lands directly in the eye of Kibo as he wakes up. "What is this? Where am I?", Kibo whispers. Kibo looks up to see that General Teno Kenpachi is standing directly in front of him while stroking his long mustache. Kibo looks around to see that his hands are chained behind his back and that there are also chains on his feet. "As you are the shame of all of Grandoria, we have decided to take you to Justice Rock, the location where the pact was made with the dragons for peace across civilization", says General Teno. Kibo looks around to see a humongous crowd of onlookers in the hundreds. In the middle of the crowd is a large catapult used to launch pieces of sharpened logs at the dragons during the war. Looking frantically at the crowd, Kibo notices Aki, shouting for death with the crowd. Kibo tries to move but notices the chains are locking his movement firmly into place with steel poles anchored to the ground on both sides of him. Kibo looks at the angry mob and notices the familiar frame of his mother. She is tattered, with worn clothes, rough hair, and looks very malnourished. Tears roll from her old eyes as she locks eyes with kibo. After noticing Kibo has spotted her, she flees backwards into the mob and can no longer be seen. "You have been taken to Justice Rock to show that we at Grandoria still uphold our treaty by getting rid of all scum, even amongst us humans", says General Teno. "Behind you is a chasm filled with the same darkness you bequeathed to my son! Let there be justice at Justice Rock!" General Teno raises his hand for the nearby soldiers in bronze armor to be ready to fire the catapult. The large crowd gets louder and hurls more trash at Kibo. A rock is thrown from a random person in the crowd and it hits Kibo in the cheek, almost knocking him out. With his last amount of breath and energy, Kibo yells, "Justice!? How is this justice!? Someone will come one day and show you people what justice is long after you kill me! You have no justice!" General Teno anchors his hand downward. A large log, sharpened at the tip, fires forward towards Kibo.
