Edmund kept his head firmly planted on the ground, not even attempting to lift it. The mana in the room was so dense and lethal he felt the air being sucked from his lungs just by breathing.
He opened his mouth to speak but found himself desperately attempting to conjure saliva as his mouth, lips and nose dried up, almost suffocation him where he lay.
Queen Invidia cocked a brow as she flimsily lifted one of her wrists and held her outstretched palm towards Edmund, "Ah, I suppose I should allow you to breathe".
As if the world had blessed him the air surrounding Edmund suddenly became drenched in sweet oxygen. He clasped at his throat as it desperately rushed towards his lungs, his breaths coming out staggered as his body hesitantly accepted this new gift.
"Can't", Edmund said, his breath still staggered.
"Can't what, exactly", Invidia replied, peering down at him as if she was staring at a spec of dirt.
