Milo panted, struggling to regain his breath as he lifted his freezing hand, wiping a drop of fresh monster blood off of his cheek. A small icicle formed along his knuckles as he allowed his mana to fade. The icicle quickly dropped into the pool of blood forming beneath his feet.
All around Milo, dozens of small carcasses of monster akin to wolves were littered. Each one's pearly white skin had a tinge of grey that had been dyed in crimson from his slashes. In between each of these wolves eyes, what appeared to be a crescent moon lay.
Milo watched as the souls of these wolves bobbed up into the air, quickly flowing into his own core the cries and howls of pain from the wolves became masked by the rustling of undergrowth.
Milo whipped his head around, bringing up the daggers to guard. Ray stepped out from behind a tree holding his hands up in surrender. Ray's white robe has been drenched in blood and his hair was matted with dirt.
