Chapter 48 - Chapter 48

Barry opened the door and saw Wilson standing in front of the french window, smoking a slender cigar. His expression remained calm, as usual.

The room had a faint smell of tobacco. There was a quiet smell.

"Mr. Wilson. "Barry called out.

Wilson turned around and looked at him with a slight smile, "Come, sit down."

The two of them sat down on the sofa next to them. Barry's face was slightly hard, while Wilson looked at him with a smile in his eyes.

"How did you lose plot A? "Wilson asked.

Barry: "I'm sorry, Mr. Wilson, it was my negligence. But don't worry, I will find a way to get this piece of land back no matter what."

Wilson raised his hand to stop him from continuing. He picked up the tea set on the table and poured a cup for both of them. Barry quickly bowed forward and lightly tapped the table with his fingers, saying, "Thank you, Mr. Wilson."

Wilson took a sip of tea with him and said, "Barry, do you know where you lost?"

Barry hesitated for a moment, making such a mature man admit his mistakes, which was quite awkward. But in front of Wilson, he remained calm and said, "My mistake was that I only focused on attacking Beck, but fell into his trap and was actually caught by him." After a pause, he said, "I really didn't expect him to be so brave and crazy."

Wilson shook his head gently and said, "No, you're wrong. You didn't recognize the principles of our R business, my principles."

Barry was taken aback.

Wilson said calmly, "Barry, you've been with me for so many years. What do you think are my principles for making choices."

"Is it... benefit?

Wilson nodded and said, "Yes. It seems that you haven't forgotten. When it comes to land bidding, the first thing you should weigh is which thing is most beneficial to us R. There is no doubt that it is to win the A plot, which involves our multi billion dollar construction plan. But you are putting the cart before the horse, only thinking about sniping at an opponent who has not yet established a foothold, and making attacking their interests the primary goal. You think you are much stronger than F, so you only focus on attacking and underestimate defending. Beck saw through your psychology and came up with this plan to avoid horse racing. Barry, you are still too hasty. After all, in this world, commoners and petty people are too weak. There are quite a few. None of the opponents you have encountered in the past are as outstanding as him. And you rely on the advantages of our R to easily stand undefeated. You also feel that he is different from others this time, right? So emotions affect your judgment. But Barry, interests are the most fundamental. The ancients said that there is a great truth to not be pleased by things and not to be sad by oneself. Regardless of whether the other party is coming aggressively, whether they have malicious intent or make people feel threatened, what you need to see in front of you is still 'benefit'. That's how you can stand invincible."

Barry remained silent for a while before nodding, "I understand, Mr. Zhang. What should we do now?"

"What do you think? "Wilson retorted to him.

Barry was really unwilling in his heart, but he still replied, "The minimum cost is to cooperate with F to develop plot A, so as not to affect our overall plan."

Wilson smiled and nodded.

Barry sighed lightly and said, "I'll arrange for someone to contact them in a few days."

"No, hurry up, don't procrastinate. "Wilson said

 "Why?"

Wilson said with a gentle expression, "If you lose, just admit it calmly. We need to cooperate early to show that we don't care. This is the demeanor and atmosphere of our first enterprise, and other enterprises can cooperate with us more confidently."

Barry's heart trembled slightly and he nodded, "I understand Mr. Wilson."

——

R's intention to cooperate was quickly conveyed to Beck.

He was a little surprised because he didn't expect R to be so fast. After pondering for a moment, he temporarily did not personally contact, but arranged for the manager of the real estate company to coordinate. Barry's side was the same, he did not personally intervene, but sent the CEO of a branch company to talk.

There was still some tacit understanding between the two men - it's a bit awkward to meet before they finish playing. Since everyone was here for profit - R can only complete the overall plan by collaborating with Beck for development. And Beck can only make money by cooperating with R - so he would contact and get in touch, and when the general intention was determined.

After a few days, the cooperation draft between the two sides was progressing efficiently. Other companies were also adopting a wait-and-see attitude towards their cooperation. But there was no doubt that F had emerged as a beautiful leader in the real estate industry, becoming a force that even R cannot underestimate.

Summer Mu and Beck continued the Cold War. They had been quite busy these past few days, and occasionally they met in the office. Although their eyes always involuntarily changed, no one spoke. Summer Mu knew that many times Beck was watching her. Just like when he didn't notice, she was also looking at him. But it felt like something important had been broken into a hole, and water kept leaking down, but neither he nor she was willing to repair it first.

It's almost the weekend.

Summer Mu also had her own relationships that need to be maintained. Sitting in her seat, she called Fang and said, "Hello, Fang."

Fang's voice remained calm and composed: 'What's the matter, Mu?'

"Are you free tonight? I'll treat you to dinner."

Fang smiled and said, "Why did you treat me to a meal?"

Summer Mu lowered her voice and said softly, "Thank you for your help."

Fang replied, "Mu, I haven't helped you much."

Summer Mu was only stunned for a moment before saying, "Didn't you teach me how to do t'ai chi ch'uan?"

This sentence made Fang chuckle softly and say, "Okay, you tell me the location, I'll have the driver take me there."

Having made an appointment with Fang, Summer Mu looked up at the clock and realized that there was still a while left before she could finish work. So he picked up the water cup and went to the pantry. At this time, there weren't many people in the office, and she's the only one in the pantry. She poured a cup of hot water and leaned against the window, drinking slowly.

The door was pushed open and Beck walked in.

Summer Mu looked up at him. She didn't know if it was her illusion, but after a few days of not looking closely, she actually felt that he seemed to have lost a bit of weight, and his face had also slimmed down a bit.

She concluded it was an illusion.

Beck also stared at her, with his hands in his pockets and deep black eyes.

He walked over.

Summer Mu turned her head and looked out the window.

"Are you going to have dinner with R's people tonight? "He said," This is the beginning of an important cooperation between the two sides."

Summer Mu looked at him directly and said with a candid expression, "I have arranged a meal with Fang."

Beck fell silent for a moment and nodded. This was indeed a more important matter.

"Still angry? "He asked in a low voice.

Summer Mu's heart softened.
