I was speechless. It felt like something was stuck in my throat, stopping me from saying anything. There was a heavy feeling in my chest, as if a huge stone was weighing down on my heart.
"Are you just going to stand there? If you don't need anything, leave! You're a disturbance!" She shouted at me, slamming the door that almost hit my face.
But I immediately snapped out of it. I blocked and pushed the door hard, almost hitting her as she stumbled back slightly.
She was shocked by what I did. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" She yelled, her face almost red with anger.
I swallowed hard, not knowing how to respond. "Wife? As far as I know, Zairon doesn't want to get married. How come someone like you married him?" I asked, my voice almost a whisper.
My whole body was trembling, but I forced myself to stay strong. There's no way that this is all true. There's no way that Zaiden's words from three years ago were true but—what should I believe now?
