Chao stood outside as Li rushed to grab Xiaoling's arm instead. Both Ying and Li guided Xiaoling to one of the tea chairs in her room. She couldn't help but look around. She hadn't been back to this room since forever. Weisheng had kept it vacant this entire time, as good as new.
As Xiaoling quietly looked around, Weisheng walked up to the tea table and sat before her. It was strange looking at her after so long. Her entire demeanor was different from what it used to be. She was so quiet, lifeless, and weak.
Weisheng's glance shifted to Ying who stood right next to Xiaoling. Ying immediately bowed.
"Second Lord, here is His Highness' message for you," Ying uttered, "Crown Princess Consort has been longing to return home and dine with her friends and family. The Eastern Palace permits her a five-day visit. As you can see, the Crown Princess Consort isn't in her best health, the Eastern Palace expects you to take care of Her Highness."
