Whenever they talked, they argued. It was almost inevitable to communicate like normal people. They nitpicked one another's moral values for a living. Even after arguing every time they talked, they still wanted the best for one another.
Weisheng just wanted to put Xiaoling back into the cycle of life and death while ensuring people who wanted otherwise didn't reach out to her.
Xiaoling just wanted Weisheng to live happily, free from all the curses, all the destinies laid out by his past incarnation.

Xiaoling sat in her room quietly, thinking about how she could put her words into action. A knock on her door ended her trail of thought, and she stood to see who it was. As she opened the door, Hai stood outside with two carriers.
"Can I get some help taking them to the shelter?" Hai asked, out of breath.
The senior cats were heavy. Xiaoling smiled, nodded, and grabbed one of the carriers from his hands.
