Hou Hai received great support from the Celestial Officials, fellow Gods, and even the Jade Emperor. He was a gifted kid from the start and most people in the Heaven Realm had seen his growth from an ordinary mortal to the God of War.
As the new God of War, his duties were the protection of the three realms and seven continents. He had the autonomy to build a military force of Heavenly Officials under him, to deploy the forces whenever he deemed fit, and to take over the Underworld.
Although Gods belonged to all three realms, the Underworld King had long disobeyed Gods and refused to bow to them. For this reason, the Underworld was considered Heaven's enemy and lost territory. As the God of War, Hou Hai had the autonomy to reclaim the land.
