Li and Zhenzhen dressed Xiaoling up in a new set of brocade. It was golden and luxurious, a pattern they had never seen before. The Empress had picked the brocade by herself, making it even more valuable. The robes were big on her small body and felt a little heavy as well.
The ornaments that went over her head made her feel even heavier. The doctor had advised her not to put her hair up, but she had to tie it in a bun to wear the headpiece sent by the Empress.
After dressing Xiaoling, Zhenzhen grabbed her arm and slowly guided her down the stairs to the lobby. All the Plum Dragon Pavillion ladies were waiting in the lobby to greet Xiaoling.
Xiaoling bade farewell to everyone one by one, personally going up to them to offer them a small bow and a few words of gratitude.
