Weisheng didn't think twice before wrapping his arms around her, slowly patting the back of her head as she buried her face in his chest while sobbing. He didn't question her or say a word because he didn't want to burden her. He didn't realize deviating from his personality burdened her more.
"I'm sorry," Xiaoling murmured as she tried to wipe her tears on his clothes, "I just don't know how to handle this!" She complained with more tears.
Weisheng exhaled, tightening his grip around her, "That's my fault, then. Anything that happens is my fault." He assured her, "Because I told you to have hope, so whatever happens falls on me. You don't have to burden yourself."
Xiaoling suddenly stopped crying and looked up at him with her chin resting on his chest. Her brows were furrowed slightly.
"What?" Weisheng asked as he slid one hand back to wipe her tears.
"Why would you say that?" Xiaoling sniffed, "I thought… we were doing this together."
