Weisheng walked out of the bathroom in navy blue pajamas, looking completely different from his work attire. Xiaoling kept her eyes off him in case her heart pounded too loudly. What if he heard it? It would be embarrassing.
He walked toward one of the cupboards in his room, pulling out a Go board and bowls for Go stones. He brought the set to the bed, setting the board, and the bowls, and filling the bowls with rocks. After setting it up, he sat beside Xiaoling, putting the board between them. The left side was the black stones, whereas the right was the white ones.
Consequently, Xiaoling had the white stones and Weisheng had the black stones. It was fitting. When playing with the Arbiter, Weisheng always forced him to choose white stones. Now that there was a blank board before them, Weisheng quietly looked up at Xiaoling, who had been trying to keep her eyes away from him.
"Are you jealous that I play with the Arbiter?" Weisheng asked.
