"No. You're lying. If you don't like me, why are your attitudes toward me different? You're very kind to me, Noah."
Athena opened her voice after being silent and already shedding her tears due to the heartache of being rejected by Noah. Noah stood up, his back to Athena, facing the window so that Noah wouldn't get even sadder and feel guilty seeing Athena's sadness.
"I was kind to you out of duty to my fellow man, Athena." Noah tried hard to answer without his voice sounding shaky.
Athena frowned. "Duty to your fellow man?"
"Yes. Fellow humans must help each other. I must be kind to everyone. Have I ever been unkind to anyone? I'm not just being nice to you, am I, Athena?" replied Noah as he repeatedly recited the word 'sorry' in his heart.
Athena's tears welled up, she couldn't hold them back. Athena looked down, clenching her hands tightly.
