Lian Yingying was a wealthy heiress. Her father, Lian Yishan, had a net worth of over ten billion yuan, and her mother was a renowned fashion designer. They were not short on money. However, she had grown up abroad with her mother. Lu Ruhui, who placed great emphasis on cultivating Yingying's independence, had always controlled her spending strictly, never allowing her to spend recklessly. In fact, Yingying had worked part-time to support herself since high school when she was living overseas.
So, even though her father would now shower her with money, Yingying understood how hard it was to earn it. Chen Wei had sent her screenshots of his earnings from U.S. stocks before, but seeing the actual numbers and watching him make money in person were two entirely different experiences. The latter was much more impactful.
"Wow, you made another 10,000 yuan with this trade! Chen Wei, you're amazing!" Lian Yingying exclaimed as she saw another increase in his account.
"Aren't you a rich young lady? Shouldn't you be used to this?" Chen Wei chuckled.
"That's different! It's not about the amount but the process! Besides, you're making money faster than my dad builds houses!" Yingying continued to marvel.
Now that she was involved in some of Jinshengda's projects, she understood the net profits of a project and its development cycle. Comparing the two, building houses didn't seem as fast a way to make money as what Chen Wei was doing.
"You're exaggerating," Chen Wei said with a helpless smile.
"I'm not! Look here..." Yingying started calculating with her fingers.
Chen Wei listened for a bit but didn't take it seriously. There wasn't any real comparison; Yingying was just amusing herself with the numbers.
After the market closed, Chen Wei had made a total of 180,000 yuan. Yingying was amazed for a while, then they started discussing the hiring process.
"For now, you only need a small assistant. They don't need much experience, just some financial basics, like bookkeeping and payroll. Once the company grows, you can hire an experienced financial manager," Yingying suggested.
She was willing to help with other matters, but when it came to hiring for the company, she preferred Chen Wei make the decisions himself.
"That's what I thought. Initially, the tasks are simple financial work and handling some miscellaneous duties. But how much do you think the salary should be? I checked online, and other companies offer between 2,000 to 4,000 yuan. Is that too low?" Chen Wei was new to hiring and unsure about the salary. At Mettai, administrative employees earned around 4,000 to 5,000 yuan, and department heads made about 7,000.
Yingying thought for a while and said, "In my family's company, a small assistant like Xiao Wang earns at least 5,000 yuan, plus bonuses and benefits, which total around 80,000 yuan a year. However, they have specific tasks, unlike your position, which is more varied but also lighter. I think a base salary of 4,000 yuan, with quarterly and annual bonuses, is reasonable. Salaries should increase annually; if you start too high, it'll be hard to manage later."
Chen Wei agreed, "Alright, let's set it at 4,000 for now."
"I'll have them post a job listing under Jinshengda's name today. You should get some resumes by tonight. I'll send you a few to review, and you can schedule interviews for tomorrow," Yingying offered.
Chen Wei accepted the help since they wouldn't have time to post a listing under his company's name today.
"By the way, how's the investment management license going? Do you need my dad's help?" Yingying asked.
"No need to trouble your dad. Yue Jiawen knows someone at the local securities regulatory office, Hu Zhao Cheng. I contacted him yesterday, and he said it's easy to handle. I just need to prepare the materials and give them to him. I've arranged to meet him for dinner tomorrow night. Are you free to join?" Chen Wei explained.
"Of course, I'm free!" Yingying readily agreed.
Since Chen Wei had to work at night, Yingying left after chatting for a bit. He took a nap and went to the company in the evening, where he received several resumes from Yingying.
When Zhou Yi noticed, he immediately got excited. "Boss, this one looks good. She's pretty!" he said, his eyes lighting up at the photo.
Chen Wei ignored him and looked at the resume of a girl named Liu Yang. He quickly dismissed it. Liu Yang had changed jobs seven or eight times in two years, indicating instability. Moreover, her resume featured a stylishly dressed photo, as if she were entering a beauty pageant.
"Hey, why'd you close it? She seemed perfect," Zhou Yi said disappointedly.
"Interested? Here's her number. Call her for a date this weekend," Chen Wei said irritably.
Zhou Yi grinned sheepishly and stayed quiet.
Chen Wei reviewed two more resumes and noted the suitable ones for interviews. But when he opened the last resume, both he and Zhou Yi were stunned—it was from Xu Lin.
They double-checked to be sure, and it was indeed Xu Lin.
Chen Wei and Zhou Yi exchanged a look, both with strange expressions.
Chen Wei never expected Xu Lin to apply to his company. This indicated that she had likely been notified and might be leaving her current job soon, possibly even today.
Their plan had succeeded. Without Xu Lin, there would be no more leaks, and Luo Chen might be quiet for a while.
But looking at Xu Lin's resume, Chen Wei fell into deep thought.
