Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Troublemaking

Those extra ten experience points were probably because he used his skill to save Lian Yingying.

As for how those ten experience points were calculated, it's hard to say for now. It's possible that they were based on the severity of Lian Yingying's injuries in the previous timeline, or it could be that saving a person grants ten experience points.

But regardless, this incident taught Chen Wei something: as long as he uses his skill and directly changes past events, the system will calculate experience points accordingly.

And it doesn't necessarily have to be about making money.

Considering the lack of experience points from the loss caused by Wang Dongcheng, it seems that changes to past events must be positive in nature.

For example, if Chen Wei were to use his skill and then damage a car, resulting in financial loss, the system wouldn't calculate any experience points.

Understanding this, Chen Wei stopped paying much attention to the system and just dozed off in the car.

After drinking half a bottle of wine, he was really feeling a bit tipsy.

In a daze, he heard the driver call out that they had arrived.

Chen Wei paid the fare, grabbed his things, returned home, quickly freshened up, and then collapsed into bed, falling into a deep sleep.

When he woke up, the sun was already high in the sky.

His head still felt heavy.

Chen Wei didn't rush out to look at houses; instead, he tidied up the house, did some cleaning, and washed some clothes.

After finishing up, it was already noon. He made himself some lunch before heading out to take a look at Shuiqing Muhua.

Shuiqing Muhua was located at the northernmost part of the central city area, adjacent to the CB area.

Compared to the City Garden and Sunshine Town, its location was a bit less desirable.

However, with the new planning of the Metro Line 10 passing by the entrance of this residential area, several nearby neighborhoods had become popular areas, and the housing prices were not any cheaper than Sunshine Town.

After taking a bus for about half an hour, Chen Wei arrived at the sales office of Shuiqing Muhua.

This sales office was obviously much smaller than those of City Garden and Sunshine Town.

There were quite a few people looking at houses inside, making it quite chaotic.

After entering, nobody paid any attention to Chen Wei.

There were a few female salespersons behind the service desk, either sitting or standing, leisurely chatting. When Chen Wei entered, they just glanced at him and continued chatting without further acknowledgment.

Chen Wei sighed inwardly. The service attitude here was comparable to that of City Garden.

He picked up a few floor plans from the display shelf and then walked to the model of the residential area to take a look.

To his surprise, out of the sixty or so buildings in Shuiqing Muhua, half of them were low-rise buildings!

This caught Chen Wei's interest!

Although high-rise buildings were convenient with elevators for going up and down, they had large shared spaces, expensive property management fees, and elevators that occasionally malfunctioned.

On the other hand, low-rise buildings, while less convenient for going up and down, didn't have many issues with the lower floors such as the first, second, or third floors.

Moreover, the first floors of most low-rise buildings came with small yards, and the top floors often had lofts!

Property management fees were also much cheaper than those of high-rise buildings.

Of course, the prices of low-rise buildings were relatively higher than those of high-rise buildings.

But considering everything, Chen Wei preferred to buy a low-rise building, preferably one with a yard on the first floor, so that when his parents came to live with him, they could grow some vegetables and flowers.

Chen Wei immediately wanted to find a salesperson to ask about the prices, sizes, and layouts of the low-rise buildings.

Looking around, apart from a few salespersons who were introducing houses to clients, there were those idle ones near the service desk.

Chen Wei walked over.

"Hello, I'd like to learn more about the houses here," Chen Wei asked politely.

A female salesperson sitting at the service desk glanced up at him and asked, "Where's your dedicated customer service?"

"What dedicated customer service?" Chen Wei was puzzled.

"The one who called and invited you to come see the house."

"No one called and invited me."

"So you came by yourself?"

"Of course I came by myself!"

The female salesperson gave Chen Wei a slightly impatient look and then said to another salesperson nearby, "Qian Qian, you take care of him."

"Ah, I just sent away a group of clients, I'm exhausted, my throat is dry, and my voice is hoarse. Let Xiao Ru take care of him."

That salesperson refused directly.

And the other one named Xiao Ru immediately said, "I have a client coming over soon; I have to wait for my client. I don't have time to take care of others."

Chen Wei watched as the salespeople inside pushed him around, and he couldn't help but laugh bitterly.

Was he really so unwelcome?

Finally, it was the first salesperson who spoke up again, saying, "Oh well, I'll do it. You guys are lazy. Wait until Manager Yang comes back, and I'll report you!"

The other female salespeople laughed and joked, not taking her seriously.

The salesperson handed Chen Wei a registration book and said, "Please sign in."

Chen Wei patiently filled it out.

The salesperson then took the registration book and wrote her name in the column next to Chen Wei's, but her handwriting was so sloppy that Chen Wei couldn't recognize it.

After completing the registration, Chen Wei thought the salesperson would explain the situation of the residential area to him, but instead, she said, "Go and pay the earnest money."

"Ernest money? What earnest money?"

"Twenty thousand yuan as earnest money. What's wrong? Do you want to buy a house or not?"

"Of course, I want to buy a house!"

Chen Wei was getting angry.

"If you want to buy, then go and pay the money!"

The salesperson said, seemingly justified.

"I don't understand the situation here yet. You want me to pay money? Do you think I'm a fool?"

Chen Wei was getting irritated, and his voice unconsciously rose a few decibels.

The salesperson, with a cold smile, looked at Chen Wei and said, "Sorry, sir, this is our rule. Customers who are not invited need to pay earnest money first. If you're not willing to pay earnest money, then sorry, but all the customers who are buying houses are waiting in line. We don't have time to waste with you!"

Chen Wei took a deep breath, suppressed his anger, and said, "Fine, I see. Goodbye!"

With that, he turned and left.

But just as he had taken a few steps, someone came in from outside.

It was Lian Yingying.
