When I arrived home, I couldn't contain my excitement. I was jumping around and shouting like a crazy person. Of course, who wouldn't be happy if they held hands with their crush, right?
Yes, Aika Evergarden has been my crush since our first year of high school. I just didn't make it obvious to my demon friends.
Then, just two months ago, they noticed that I had a crush on Aika. It wasn't intentional, let's just say I slipped up during a conversation and that was it.
As for me, I'm Kil Whitlock. I don't know why my surname is Whitlock when my hair isn't even white.
My hair is black and my eyes are blue. My hair isn't too long, but it's not too short either.
The next day, I went back to school, another boring day ahead. What else is there to do? Maybe just sleep all day.
I had put a bandage on my cheek where Aika punched me.
As I was walking, I suddenly saw George and Napoleon walking together. They looked back and noticed me, so they stopped walking and waited for me.
"Oh, what's up, Kil? What happened to your face?" George asked with a smile as if he enjoyed what happened. But I enjoyed it too.
"I heard you had a collision with Aika?" Napoleon approached and playfully nudged my body. "Tell me, are you two a thing now? Ha?"
These two are such jokers, they conspired against me. What more if Miggy finds out about this?
"Well, not really like that, you see..." I couldn't continue what I was saying because George suddenly interrupted.
"Aika Evergarden punched you, right? HAHAHAHAHA, what happened? Don't tell me you made a move on her?... Oh boy, you haven't changed, have you?"
Well, these guys are crazy. Even though I got punched, at least I held her hands, heh heh heh... such weak beings. Aika is the top 1 in the whole school, and we're graduating this year, so I'll start pursuing Aika.
"Well, uh, it's not like that, by the way, did you guys do the assignment?" I tried to change the topic.
"Changing the subject, huh? Nope... this guy probably got rejected," Napoleon teased.
And we continued walking. Napoleon had black hair that was always short, and his eyes were red.
As we entered the school, I noticed Aika looking at me from their classroom.
My cheeks turned red, and I looked in a different direction as if I was embarrassed.
Once we entered our classroom, Miggy suddenly approached me. "Kil? What happened to your face? Did you try to be a pervert again?" Miggy joked.
"Not like that, by the way, can I copy your assignment, Migs?" I replied.
"You haven't changed," he said as he walked towards his seat, took his notebook, and handed it to me. "Here, just return it."
Miggy had brown hair and black eyes, he was intelligent, and he was the top student in our classroom. His physique was average, just like the three of us.
The four of us were best friends since the first year. We were always together, teasing each other, supporting one another during exams, but it wasn't the same now that Miggy was with us.
I went to my desk, placed my bag down, and quickly copied the assignment before our teacher arrived.
After finishing, I returned Miggy's notebook to him, and our teacher arrived.
"Everyone, take your seats. Let's take roll call," our teacher said. "John Smith?"
"Present."
"Michael Brown?"
"Present."
"Sarah Davis?"
"Present."
"David Wilson?"
"Present."
"Miggy Anderson?"
"Present."
"Napoleon Johnson?"
"Present."
"George Orion?"
"Present."
"Kil Whitlock?"
"Present."
Wow, studying was so boring. While our teacher was taking roll call, I fell asleep again.
"Hey, wake up," Miggy woke me up.
I slowly opened my eyes. "What's up?" I lazily asked.
"Let's go to the canteen, snack time," Miggy replied, giving me a thumbs up and a smile as if he had a plan.
I startled and pushed my chair back, stood up, and stretched. We walked towards the door, passing by George and Napoleon in the corridor who were looking down. "Let's go," Miggy said to them, and we walked towards the canteen.
Once we were in the canteen, Miggy and Napoleon quickly lined up, while George and I chose our table to make sure we wouldn't lose our spot.
"Pst! Hey!" George called me, and when I looked at him, he had a crazy smile on his face as he pointed to the table next to us.
When I looked, there was Aika, laughing. Wow, she had such a beautiful smile. I looked back at George and whispered, "Hey, stop pointing, they might notice."
"Shut up, do you want me to tell them that you like her?" he teased.
"Tsk," I looked in the other direction, at the table beside us, and placed my right palm on my cheek in frustration with George.
Then, the two of them arrived and placed our snacks on the table. "Hey, Kil, there's Aika," Miggy used his lips to gesture towards where Aika was sitting.
"Can you guys just be quiet?" I whispered again as I took a bite of my food.
"Kil, did you see the guy beside her? Rumor has it that he likes Aika. Come on, if you don't make a move now, she might end up with the guy beside her," Napoleon whispered.
"What do I care? I already know that I'm more handsome than him," I replied.
"Oh please, you can't even express your feelings to her," George said.
"Can you guys just be quiet and eat?" I replied.
Suddenly, a muscular guy entered the canteen, accompanied by three smaller individuals. Everyone in the canteen fell silent when he arrived.
The guy had black hair with streaks of blonde, giving him a gangster-like appearance.
He was bigger than me, and they approached the table where Aika and her friends were eating.
He slammed his hands on their table, and my perception of him changed as if I wanted to beat up this rude guy.
"Hey Aika, come with me and I'll make you happy all the time. So come on," he said.
The guy who was with Aika stood up. "Stop it, Aika wouldn't agree, and of course, I won't allow it either."
"Hey Conrad, cut it out. Don't start a fight, remember, we're in the Star Section," Aika tugged at Conrad's shirt to make him stop.
"Huh, come on Aika, if you don't want to, I'll just—" The muscular guy didn't finish his sentence as the spoon fell onto the empty plate, making a loud noise.
The world stopped for the muscular guy and his group, as well as for my group. His eyes widened as he looked towards the source of the sound, surprised that we had passed by them as if nothing happened.
Napoleon opened the door, and we walked towards our classroom.
"Good thing you restrained yourself, Kil," George said.
"Yeah, because if I hadn't left that place, I might have killed him," I said with a cold voice, and my desire to kill grew stronger.
"You're terrifying, Kil," Miggy said.
"What about it? Will you just let your crush suffer there?" George asked.
They were startled when we reached the principal's office. "Principal's Office? Wait, don't tell me..." Miggy couldn't finish his sentence.
"Yes, you're right, Migs. If I get into another fight, I'll surely be expelled, so this is our last resort," I replied.
I knocked on the principal's door and entered. "Good morning, Ma'am Principal," I greeted.
"Oh, Mr. Whitlock, how may I assist you? Don't tell me you got into another fight, Kil?" the principal asked.
"There's a troublemaker in the canteen, a muscular guy, he's probably from Class-4, the fourth year students like me. He was being disrespectful," I turned around and held the doorknob. "Please hurry, Ma'am Principal, the situation might worsen there," I said with a smile before opening the door.
