Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

Though it was a thin, reinforced shield that exhibited a noticeable improvement, unlike the other version, it still got destroyed by a single magical bullet. It gave Izel enough time to react and create a new, much stronger barrier. Without a fraction of a second, Izel's thoughts and mana converged, and he summoned a new force field, dozens of times more robust than its predecessor. The new reinforced barrier would sustain Izel for some time, even if he was hit by an anti-tank missile. Once he felt secure, he utilized [Mana Inspection] and dispersed his oval-like, straightened-out mana in all directions, searching for any sign of people. Focused on the task at hand, he felt his mana at 40%. Yet, despite being shot just moments before, Izel remained calm and collected. His mind, which had been consumed with worries about the activities he hoped to do if time permitted him, cooled in the face of the life-threatening situation. Emotions and fears were pushed aside as reason and his strong mental fortitude, honed in the Fortress of Dungeons, came to the forefront, filling Izel with confidence.'Umm, no trace.'Despite releasing his stable oval-like mana and sweeping a 1km radius, alongside his [Sound Reading] scanning every ripple, body response, focal point, and frequency across the vicinity, yet, he couldn't feel anything except for the breathing patterns and bodily responses of tramps and ripples and frequencies from air currents and neon signposts and streetlights. Whoever shot at him was either a Gunslinger, sniping from beyond his ranges and far distance, or a Hitman using a method to conceal their presence that was too advanced for both his [Sound Reading]'s echolocation and [Mana Inspection]. Both scenarios presented equal difficulty.Having witnessed a Gunslinger-type Hunter in the Magical Train dealing with an Acolyte shiftily, Izel couldn't help but wonder if it was worth it for this trembling, helpless man. His [Sound Reading], which had been scanning about, suddenly fixed on Fallen Dean T'vehillion's head. The scent of blood hung in the air with his bodily responses fading—as he examined via ripples swept across his head, he realized something. The direction in which the gunshot was fired. Indeed, Izel realized that it was aimed at the lower part of the reinforced barrier. At first, he had assumed it was just to subdue him, but now he considered the possibility that it could be aimed at Dean T'vehillion lying on the water-drenched ground. With eerie lightning flashing occasionally, with rumbles of thunder that pierced through the clouds across the horizon, Izel made a reasonable assumption and followed it with reasoning. He concluded that whoever shot the gun must have used their hand to cover Dean T'vehillion's mouth. Perhaps it was the company that hired the Hidden Hunter, and they were trying to silence Dean because not only did he lose his powers or get seriously injured, he never returned to the hideout, or he knew something that shouldn't have reached Vista's ears or any outsider's ears.If that was the case, it made perfect sense that the sniper or Gunslinger-type Hunter took the shot as soon as Izel found Dean T'vehillion. After all, most Border Hunters commissioned for such dirty job tasks would consider it a personal triumph if their target were eliminated while being tracked. As a result, the case would likely disappear along with any evidence that the 'Company' tried to silence Dean T'vehillion. However, Izel had no intention of letting whoever, be it a Gunslinger-type Hunter, Hitman, or assassin-type Hunter, openly try to shoot his prey right in front of him and get away with it. From the moment he became involved in this field of work that could enable him to climb the ladder on the Continental rank—1999th, he knew he had to handle things decisively and maintain a brutal attitude. He intended to become Known as Blind, the unknown Hunter who was ruthless and cold so that fewer people would interfere with his money-making job.['Hellflame' has been activated.]With resolve, Izel channeled the dark purplish flame between his fingers and shot it toward Dean's focal point, the spot where the bullet had earlier shaved his hair on his head.HOOSH!The rough scream of Dean echoed through the air as he, wriggling in agony, was instantly rendered unconscious as though he were killed. Since Jane had previously expressed a preference for capturing the target alive, it ultimately meant that there was nothing wrong if the target was dead. But Izel never had any intention of killing anyone just yet. After all, what he had done to Dean was worse than death, triggering the 'hippocampus' section of the brain that deals with short-term memory, disrupting the nerves with Hellflame by force—so, this would result in the 'Secret' in Dean T'vehillion's head being forever lost.Izel, who had no interest in such information, had his sole focus on locating and seeking vengeance against the Sniper or Gunslinger-like Hunter stressing him and taking aim at him. To Izel, all of this was merely a process—a means to an end.'Found it.'As soon as Izel pretended he had ended Dean's life, he sensed a faint disturbance in the air. The accompanying focal point and a wave of mana didn't go unnoticed by his [Sound Reading] and [Mana Inspection]. From a distance of approximately 800 meters away, Izel felt the presence, proving his hunch accurate. The sniper, Gunslinger-type Hunter, or assassin-type Hunter was indeed evading detection through some means, perhaps [Mana Concealment], other than distancing himself. As soon as he had located the position, he summoned Inferno together with mana and—.['Hellflame' has been activated.]...with a swift motion, the blind teen raised his hand. His skin took on an oily sheen as purplish-dark sparks ignited, coalescing into a searing sphere in his palm.W-WO-WOO-WOOM!The sizzling, fist-sized, stable flame howled alongside mana, surging forth from his grasp.WOOOOO!With the [Grandmaster of Mana] in absolute control of his now 35% mana and 50% inferno, alongside the 'title' on standby, a peculiar sensation coursed through him as he felt [Hellflame] begin to gleam and blaze beyond intensity, casting a brilliant light through the dim and gloomy atmosphere. Indeed, it inverted and propelled upwards and beyond the limit of normal space.Despite utilizing [Hellflame] in this form many times, and perhaps once having the thoughts of increasing its expansion and destruction in training, this was the first time he had ever tested the skill beyond the limited space. Curiosity piqued him as he proceeded and didn't stop. Among flame-type skills such as [Mana Blasts] and [Colossal Flame], [Hellflame] was never meant to be utilized this way. Different from the Gatekeeper that utilized it as an 'area of effect' skill in the C-rank, Izel applied the principle of [Mana Blast] he learned from Jenna Rivel Callen to come up with this style. So, its potential to harness great power with just one orb is enough to render power below S-rank useless.[Hellflame Explosive.]In an instant, the air shook with purplish-dark energy, and an explosion ripped through the sky, crashing into anything within 800 meters with a deafening roar.KA-BOOOOOOOM!KWAAAAAAAANG!Izel was taken aback by the sheer power of the skill. In his mind, he had always thought that until he increased the proficiency of [Hellflame] beyond 2%, only then, could it be a real symbol of strength and destruction, thus useful to him. But seeing it manifest in reality with [Grandmaster of mana] in full control, ruling and managing both his mana and inferno, left him with a newfound appreciation for its destructive potential.Had the sniper or Gunslinger-type Hunter or assassin-type Hunter not reacted quickly and evaded the strike, he or she would have surely perished. Izel rushed towards the point of impact, but all that remained was ruins everywhere across the ripples of the shrapnels and the scent of dust tickling his nostrils, devoid of any trace of the assailant.'Did the Gunslinger flee the moment I activated the skill?'Izel weighed his options - he could try to track the sniper, but the chance of success was slim. Instead, he decided that the show of force would be enough to deter any further attempts on his life, at least for the time being, although it was unlikely to spread his alias as 'Blind', the reaper. Izel didn't hold high expectations, but he wished that he wouldn't encounter any pointless hindrances or constraints while taking Dirty Jobs. However, he was aware that by behaving in such a way, he might draw unwanted attention from those who sought to pry into his affairs as a Walker of the Fortress of Dungeons that had been trending lately. This was precisely why he had assumed an alias, and moved quickly between his plans, to avoid detection, investigations, pursuit by Border Hunters for his crime of forging a Fake Identity of a 'TFO' member, and lastly, scrutiny by his sudden disappearance of 27 days and reappearance of B-rank Hunter which was once a Trash Hunter by the [Bureau].Of course, Izel placed complete faith in his current abilities and experiences, a wondrous gift forged by surviving daily and struggling bitterly in the Fortress of Dungeons. While he was uncertain of the extent of other Hunters' abilities in Eliluam or Walkers that could appear anytime, he knew that his 'own' slow growth and achievements would never falter. With his unyielding rationale, Izel suppressed the faint stirrings of unease of almost exhausted mana and inferno at mostly [22%], of course, his stamina took a big hit as he let out a deep sigh, before collecting Dean's unconscious body, and carefully placing it in a bag he had prepared for this purpose. Despite the physical exertion, he didn't lack much strength as his stat beyond 50 held its potential. While he may have suffered from muscle pain from the impact of the [Hellflame], he didn't strengthen his muscles with mana, aware that it had to recover as much as possible in anticipation of the labyrinth raids through the effects of [Grandmaster of mana]. And since the inferno had to recover naturally, he understood the need to conserve and utilize his inferno sparingly unless faced with an adversary.Following the same path he had taken earlier, Izel made his way toward Jane's bar. The bag he carried dripped with blood and trembling Dean's body, but there was no one in the vicinity observant enough to take notice of the gruesome sight. Upon reaching the location of Jane's bar, the blind teen was dismayed to find the shutter closed. After a moment's hesitation, he knocked on the shutter, hoping that someone was still inside. A hoarse voice belonging to an oddly strange elderly bartender emanated from within, "The business hours start from 7 PM."Izel checked his Hunter's Kit, which the feminine voice indicated through his mind that it was only 4 hours past midnight, before tucking it back into his cloak, and announcing, "I caught Dean T'vehillion."A moment of silence hung in the air as the old man struggled to comprehend the implications of Izel's words. He let out a resigned sigh before saying, "There's a back door behind the building. Come on in from there."Following the old man's directions, Izel made his way inside and was met with a sensation that was both familiar and different from the previous bar. Indeed, distinct scents, ripples, and also disorientation. Unable to see the counter separated by a glass window, the old man gazed at him with a guarded expression.Noticing the sack that Izel carried, the old man cautiously suggested, "When discussing business in the future, please use this entrance. I should have informed you earlier, but both Jane and I seem to have forgotten.""Sure," Izel simply agreed, placing the sack on the table."Check this first," Izel said, indicating to the sack.THUD!"Dean T'vehillion is still alive," the old man said, noticing slight movement from the quivering sack. "Wait a moment."After slipping on a pair of gloves from under the counter, he let out a resigned sigh and began examining the contents of the trembling bag. Despite being faced with a critically conditioned body, he remained unfazed and calm, indicating that he was no ordinary person. Of course, Izel knew he was strange when his [Sound Reading] first detected the ripples and unsettling yet familiar bodily responses from him, but he didn't know why. He might be overthinking it, or his instincts and senses might be on high alert."Though quite alive, a certain caliber bullet from a gunshot shaved quite an area of his scabs from afar," the old man continued his assessment. "Based on the time of impact and other factors, 90% of his organs have already been busted, his ears are ruptured, and his spine is cracked, so there is a probability he might succumb to death in less than an hour. Before all that was mentioned, there seemed to be a broken core in his solar plexus, and he seemed to have been malnourished for some time. There are no signs of mana modification or concealment, but just mana radiation, seemingly from Vista security defense, indicating that it was indeed the individual himself."Izel was astonished at the old man's ability to deduce everything simply by observing the crumpled but shaking form in the sack."Are you a former coroner?" Izel asked."Well… I've done something similar before. Would you like to collect the mission pay now?" the old man replied."Ah, yes, and also the 'Continental Rank' assessment'," Izel said in acknowledgment. The old man promptly retrieved his kit by harboring his mana around it, which floated out to his view. After a few taps, he asked for Izel's details for his accounts and Hunter's Model number."XXX-XXX-XX38, and XXX23." After Izel provided him with his personal account details, the old man tapped in the appropriate amount of cash and pressed "Send" on his Kit.BEEP!Before long, his Hunter's Kit vibrated, tendrils of mana dancing around it as the orb floated in front of him…[The 'Dirty Jobs Audition bar' has deposited ¢4,000,000 Lupins to your main account.][¢400,000 for deducting the 10% commission had been deducted.][¢30,000 lupins for 'Continental rank assessment implementation' had been deducted.][Current balance: ¢9,069,999 Lupins.]...the familiar monotone voice narrated the new changes in his account, leaving Izel's heart fluttering. He felt the epiphany of seeing his balance moving up rather than down, like the Entertainment Section. Of course, after gaining his composure, his attention veered to a certain notification he received before his main balance."Continental rank assessment implementation?" Izel inquired aloud. "Why was there a deduction just for that?""It was a great feat to ascend the continental rank using the assessment of a Dirty Job, unlike raiding many labyrinths that depend on ranks and achievements to climb just a little. So, a fee is needed to bypass the security system of the bureau to change it, without their passcode and authority.""Is that so? Then, why don't Hunters take more Dirty Jobs than raiding Labyrinths if that's the case?" Izel asked."Hmm, it's because of the stagnation of individual power and influence. For instance, after succeeding in a few Dirty Jobs missions and gaining attention from influential Companies for more complex dirty jobs, there's a possibility he or she would get tangled in the political battle of companies—though they might get cash just like you did and ascend to greater positions on the Rank—but their accomplishment, power, experiences, stats, and abilities one gains from Labyrinths are limited in Dirty Jobs.""I see," Izel pondered whether the 'Hunting Job' and 'Dirty Job' sectors operated in a similar fashion on Eliluam as they did in the Fortress of Dungeons—in other words, preferences of choices, goals, ambitions, and benefits were always at play, so one had to weigh which one favored more before proceeding. As he stored the various pieces of information the old man had shared with him in his mind, he said, "Thanks for the knowledge."As the old man nodded slightly, a figure emerged from behind the black curtains situated behind him."Hey, have you already arrived?"It was Jane Austen, looking tired and disheveled, as she pushed back her unkempt hair. Her bat-like wings flapped lightly as she let out a yawn."Whoa, what customer show at this hour? You must 'really' be in a hurry, huh?"Izel nodded obediently at Jane's sarcastic smile. "Time waits for no man, after all.""Dang, says someone who went to the Entertainment Section before coming here."Of course, she knew the reason why that was so — was because of his accumulated trauma and grief about breaking out of his bottleneck, but she couldn't help but tease him. Pulling up a chair next to the old man and sitting down, resting her chin on her hand, she asked, "Normally, It takes at least a few Dirty Jobs to record a 'Continental rank assessment,' but since you caught the tagged Hidden Hunter so quickly, I made an exception. But what I'm curious about right now is how did you manage to catch that rat bastard so quickly?""It was simply luck," Izel replied.Jane let out a soft chuckle at Izel's predictable response. Despite knowing the answer to that query she asked him, she somewhat expected some thorough answer from him. But since her other personality once labeled the blind teen as an awkward teen, she finally understands why though. Sensing that the topic had reached its natural conclusion, she swiftly changed the subject. "If you can get results this fast, you're 'definitely' more skilled than the B-rank Hunter you were given by the [Bureau]. Let's work together again in the future.""I wouldn't mind another Dirty Job right now."Izel realized that to receive more work, and cash, and also ascend the Eliluam continental rank from this establishment, he would have to take more rapid jobs. However, he was reluctant to make any unnecessary moves at this time, due to his exertion, mana, and inferno exhaustion during the recent Dirty Job, which had recovered to 35% for mana and 26% for Inferno. However, it seems Jane also could tell how stressed the blind teen is, so she immediately shook her head. "No can do. First, give Vista rep the results, check out the other 'company' movement, and then we'll talk about the next job.""One Job isn't enough?" Izel seemed to insist."You're good at communicating. We'll see how good you are at the Job, and then we'll talk about more work," Jane said with a smile, indirectly telling him to take a rest before he proceeds to take any other Job."Hmm…" Izel remarked."It's probably not just because of that." Despite Jane's smooth and convincing words, Izel harbored some doubts. He could still work, but soon, he let out a sigh. He also learned that her words often held more ambiguity than meaning. He also knew he needed rest to recharge and analyze his fight, so he decided not to push her for a Job and instead checked whether he ascended the 'Eliluam Continental rank' by flickering out his Hunter's kit. Familiar haptic feedback jolted through Izel's mind, leaving him to examine the content that just alerted him. He deftly diffused mana into the floating Hunter's kit, and automatically the carved orb responded, causing it to stop right in front of his chest.[Continental Rank: 1975th]After the familiar feminine voice narrated his new rank, Izel smiled with satisfaction. It felt good to have ascended the rank so quickly. 'I've ascended quite a bit,' he thought briefly, amused by his current position at 1975th. His mind veered to his friends—Daniel and Jenna—as he wondered when it would be the right time to meet them and what rank they would have held by then. Admiring his rank for a bit, he turned to leave—."Alright, see you later.""Wait, I have a question," Izel remarked."What is it?" Jane asked. With the time on the Runic Stone now in its '5th' day after his return, Izel had been searching for a suitable labyrinth to grind a few stats or perhaps gain a few more demerits-free skills, similar to what he acquired from the Moderator. He thought maybe Jane could offer a solution."I'm looking for a labyrinth that could be quite raidable. It doesn't have to be A-rank or S-rank, but I want to raid perhaps a B-rank if possible."Jane remained silent, but Izel noticed a brief exchange of glances between her and the old man through their bodily responses.Swiveling about the shelves at the back of her, Jane picked a well-made, fragile book with caution, almost as though it were a ticking time bomb. She scrutinized through its pages. For a moment, her fist clenched, but she swiftly regained her composure. Finally, she jammed the book closed, placed it back on the shelves, and let out a sigh of relief."Haa… I thought you backed down after thinking about the state you are in, but it seems you wanted to take a rest or something.""I'm asking this for after I have taken a rest," Izel said."Is that so? In that case, a B-rank labyrinth is available in the Zenie Section. It's an island type—fret not, it's not a subterranean one."Jane, knowing most Hunters are scared of attempting subterranean Labyrinths due to laws that bind such places, for instance, only a certain amount of Hunters could raid it—no one is allowed, nor could they escape when they failed to successfully raid it. She deliberately disregarded it for the blind teen and spoke again, "But aren't you a new B-rank Hunter? You shouldn't be thinking of raiding a subterranean labyrinth for now, maybe after you have become a High-Hunter.""Are Subterranean Labyrinths different from other Labyrinths?" Izel remarked. Of course, Subterranean Labyrinths are 'those' dungeons underneath the ground with different niches, cruel climates, and dangerous monsters depending on the rank. But he was curious why other subterranean labyrinths were more 'terribly' difficult than other labyrinths."Yeah. There is a considerable difference between them in difficulty. Subterranean Labyrinth terrain is rough and cruel with disaster-rank Monsters. Though to a Ranker like myself, other Labyrinths are plain garbage. But to you, it is a suitable labyrinth to test your skill and gain stats," Jane stated."…""Anyway, if you 'really' want to raid another labyrinth per my suggestion, check out the 'Island Labyrinth' West of [Zenie Section]. Many Hunters of B-rank and less would be there to raid it as well as the ones that could completely fuck up the balance of the raid. In any case, you might also find something you want there as well," she provided him with a rough description of the Island labyrinth's location, as Izel nodded his head in understanding."Thanks for the tip. I'll come back next time.""Sure thing, see you later."As Izel walked away from Jane, bidding her farewell with a wave of his hand, she suddenly came to a halt."What, can I ask one more question?" she remarked."What?""Can you tell me whether a monster's flesh could cause bodily transformation?" He inquired, having read an article about it online—and happened to remember it right now and asked whether it was true or not. Nothing more, nothing less. After Izel had vanished from sight, the old man ended the misery of the Dean T'vehillion that he had left behind. He took a photograph and collected genetic information, which he sealed and delivered separately to Vista's intermediary. Although an additional commission fee was incurred while an ascension in the teen's Continental ranks was given during the process, it was par for the course in this line of work, and costs could not be discussed without deducting the commission fee and 'Continental rank assessment implementation' fee.Jane, who had been observing the old man's actions while resting her chin on her hand, remarked, "Isn't it weird to have Izel looking for 'Monster stem modification'?""Is this regarding that blind teen from earlier?" The old man remarked."Yeah, if I hadn't known him before, I'd be wondering if he was courting death or simply crazy. I don't get what goes through his mind even though my other alter-self always had trouble with him. I guess he was more different since he returned from the Fortress of Dungeon." Her voice lanced with concern.Although Jane B. Austen tried to dismiss the comment with a smirk, the old man—a crimson bloodlust aura wrapped around his whole body, akin to an Oxyuranus Microlepidotus shedding its skin. In the blink of an eye, it transformed him into a completely different person—seemed to think differently. He appeared unkempt, akin to a towering beggar with a lengthy beard - a stark contrast to his intimidating demeanor when he first appeared on the magical train. His deep voice and imposing figure that should overshadow everything were tuned down. As he cleared the counter, he spoke slowly—.[▷ After my radars went to deal with cutting away the rotten parts that were brought to my attention by the blind teen on the magical train—].His eyes blazed crimson, a clear sign of his intense displeasure at the interference by the Cascade Guild the last time he went out. He was unable to cut them off since he had been busy with other stuff—managing the First District—and his Radars couldn't handle such a renowned guild. Even if he had taken action, he had to hold a meeting with other Moderators of other Districts. With a clenched jaw and a moment of grinding his teeth, Jane interrupted his thought."I never knew you had met Izel before," Jane said. Of course, she knew that from her other personality, but since the Moderator was her dear friend, she couldn't help but ask where his transparency was.[▷Well… at the time, you were in the Entertainment Section, and I was summoned with a debt.]"Debt? Could that 'actually' work to summon the Moderator?" Jane asked in confusion.[▷ In a certain condition, yes. That was amusing! I couldn't help but laugh. But what was shocking to both my radars and me was that he knew the two most important yet hidden rules of the First District.]"Ah, my alter self did tell him that. Hehe," Jane replied, her tone tinged with amusement. The Moderator chimed in.[▷Tsk, no wonder he knows of my existence to summon me—then using those rules that were established after the [Armaedggeon] to indirectly slay the acolyte squad leader while also gaining a skill and repaying the debt he used to summon me.]"I guess that was done with his own volition and smart mind," Jane praised the blind teen's creative and quite calculated mind. Of course, she knew he was a clumsy kid sometimes in the past.[▷Anyways, my radars discovered something interesting by circumventing all Companies' networks in search of more rotten parts scattered about.]Jane's expression immediately soured at the Moderator's words. "Why are you still wasting resources on those rotten parts while you can order me to do it? You know that utilizing Radars to utilize all networks is a completely stressful endeavor to your mana pool."Radars were the tiny finger-sized gophers with large single eyes that oversaw all the Sections of the First District. However, they still had to be regarded as powerful supernatural beings as they are called the "Eyes and Ears of the Moderator." However, they are more efficient and cash-free for management unlike Network Grinder of the Freelancer Organization—a group of elite individuals who controlled a significant portion of the First District Information network and sold off its byproduct per the Moderator's order to companies, Guilds and to other Sections and Districts for the Organization's revenue. They built a team of skilled engineers and programmers, making it easy to track any ex-hunters, acolytes, or hidden Hunters and activity of Hidden Labyrinths and Labyrinth Occurrences within the First District and any information of any companies and every superior being that existed in the District. However, the cost for Management is costly, so the Moderator utilized the 'Radars' except they were needed crucially. Even utilizing the "radars'' to almost connect to all network links in Eliluam could be quite draining. However, to Jane's words of concern, the hobo's moderator shrugged, remaining composed. He responded—.[▷It appears they managed to capture an image of Dean T'vehillion's arrest moment, and Blind's unique ability was also recorded. Shouldn't you want to see how strong that brat 'actually' is for any future Job? He may be a more valuable Hunter worth protecting than we initially thought from Cascade Guild and the 'company' against Vista Company.]"What?" Jane remarked.[▷Despite its enormous size, the 'Company' against Vista lacked true power and influence beyond its core leadership due to the low rank of its members. They were little more than a collection of Acolytes, hidden Hunters, and street thugs. However, there was one area in which such individuals could prove useful to the organization.]"Got it. Here they are. These guys are everywhere," Jane acknowledged.Being scattered throughout the First District like litter, they had eyes and ears on everything that transpired in the [First District]. It is without a doubt that the testimonial level of that 'company' members was not discernible from that of the criminal organizations or how the criminal organization had a secret sponsor like the [Cascade Guild] that had avoided the TFO Network Grinder for years—that the Blind teen found out a hint about in the Magical train—or how the attempt to steal Vista's New Al unarmed operation Error failed. However, it was unwise to underestimate its value on certain occasions that happened in recent times. Thus, with the Moderator now motivated to seek out the rotten parts, fearing the specters of war and gores of another [Armaedggeon] looming ominously on the horizon if he ignored the hints, displayed his ingenuity by connecting the radars to all the networks. Even though the testimony of the members was not remarkable, it held significant importance."Wow…"As Jane replayed the brief 4-second video from the holographic screen in the air, she couldn't help but be amazed. The footage captured a rare spectacle: the moist sky gleaming and shaking ominously in brilliant light, being consumed by a blazing purplish-black explosion. It was a sight that not many had been privileged to witness.Dryly chuckling, Jane asked, "So, this is the handiwork of Izel?"[▷He claimed to be a B-rank Hunter, but he appears to be a High-Hunter. It's 'highly' likely that the Bureau was unable to fully evaluate his skills and stats.] The Moderator replied."Could be, since they are keeping his evaluation a secret, especially now with the news of an alternate world trending on Eliluam. If this turns out to be the handiwork of a Trash Hunter who has recently become a B-rank, things would get bothersome, as the renowned Guilds wouldn't stay quiet since the news they've covered up the most has now leaked."Right, though they both knew everything that goes on in the First District, foresight was a prerequisite in their field of expertise. They both knew the difficulty of matters online and in the First District since the news of an Alternate World. But if this Walker from such a world was widely known before the right time, things would get overly troublesome. In Eliluam, there was what seems to be called 'Right news at the right time.' It was a unique style the Moderator had implemented since the last Armaedggeon. It purely manipulated and controlled the people, reactions, activities of companies, and information both online and through rumors, while limiting the influence and power of other Guilds and Species without requiring specific means like 'Forces,' 'order,' and 'wars.' This aspect of the system has made it renowned for its difficulty. Unlike the ancient ruling system, which developed a strict and lopsided style— for instance, rich and poor, strong and weak—the new ruling system takes a significant amount of time to establish, resembling the control of information equality between two types of sectors and leaving them to balance each other out—that could take centuries to blossom.Such a Blind Hunter from the alternate World on everyone's mind and screen could disrupt everything that was built. Indeed, such powers to release an explosive amount of energy into the air to cause a large-scale explosion just like multiple grenades or nucleomagical bombs require extensive training, effort, and suffering. 'And' for someone such as the blind teen with slow growth and achievement, it means his struggle and struggles were tenfold as he chose 'the' Extreme Difficulty. Considering these, Jane muttered as he continued to observe the video, "Even if I underrate it, it appears to be at least a High-Hunter's prowess."A High-Hunter is a rank in the 1500s in the 'continental rank', who has gone beyond the more S+ ranked in terms of experience, skill, and stats, reaching a complete transcension through rigorous raiding labyrinths and perhaps obtaining one or two job-related traits. Hunters of this caliber are capable of fulfilling their roles without compromising on modern firepower and are widely regarded as a disaster, less than ten thousand before the [Ranker] rank. This level represents the minimum hierarchy required to reach one [job-related trait], stat beyond 60, and 1500s in the Continental ranks, with immense growth potential. Furthermore, High-Hunter or higher Hunters under the purview of the [First District] can claim to gain more honors, wealth, power, fame, and authority the more they ascend the Continental ranks alongside Legendary Ranked items over time and other accomplishments.[▷It's possible that he could potentially ascend to the rank of Ranker or even High-Ranker in the near future..] The Moderator mused aloud."His future potential doesn't make sense even though he was an extreme Difficulty in the Fortress of Dungeons. Why would someone as talented as him be in such haste? Perhaps to return to the Fortress—if he showcased his abilities elsewhere, he'd have no shortage of both Labyrinths and Guild offers."As Jane spoke, the Moderator shook his head in agreement.[▷Perhaps even an Ascender, but it's possible he seems to have greater ambitions and goals that go beyond that. I saw it in his unfocused eyes that day on the Magical train.] The Moderator added.Jane's mind raced as she considered the possibility, "Could he be attempting to find the cause of the significant changes that occurred a century ago when monsters invaded Eliluam from Vulkan?" She wondered aloud, immediately dismissing the thought. She also wasn't curious about the mysterious location of Vulkan that could impact individual choices, yet it eluded discovery to this day. Indeed, it wasn't just a mere passing shower.[▷Perhaps…] The Moderator responded thoughtfully, hoisting Dean T'vehillion's lifeless body into a bag and slinging it over his shoulder. His eyes glinted with a faint light as he peered toward the underground incinerator.[▷But, I just wanted him to become so strong… and maybe he could make an excellent sparring partner.] The Moderator murmured as the blazing flame ignited the body bag akin to a colossal flaming sushi.
