ELENA POV
It was one of those days when Mariana and Clarina were full of energy and I could barely keep up with them. They had been begging me to take them out, and after some relentless pleading, I finally agreed. We decided to go to their favorite restaurant in town, a cozy little place with the best burgers and milkshakes.
"Elena, can we get the double cheeseburgers?" Mariana asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"And extra fries?" Clarina chimed in, equally enthusiastic.
"Sure, sure, whatever you want," I replied, smiling at their eagerness. We found a nice table by the window and settled in, chatting about their plans for the summer and all the fun things they wanted to do.
As we were waiting for our food, I glanced around the restaurant and my heart nearly skipped a beat. Sitting at a table near the back was Dave. He hadn't noticed us yet, engrossed in conversation with a friend.
