**Emily's POV**
After Elena left the café, I stayed behind for a few minutes, sipping my coffee and going over the conversation in my head. Everything had gone according to plan—well, almost everything. Elena had bought my story, or at least enough of it to keep her hooked. But something about her demeanor made me uneasy. She was too composed, too... careful.
I needed to be more cautious. I couldn't afford any slip-ups, not when I was this close to bringing Gabriel down. As I finished my coffee, I grabbed my phone and made a call.
"Yeah, it's me," I said when the person on the other end picked up. "The meeting went as planned, but keep an eye on Elena. She's not as naive as she looks."
There was a pause on the other end, and I could almost hear the gears turning in my contact's mind. "Got it. What's the next move?"
