OLIVIA'S POV
I scrolled through my contacts, finally landing on Elena's name. It had been too long since we last spoke, and I was missing her more than ever. With a sigh, I pressed the call button, waiting anxiously for her to pick up.
"Finally decided to grace me with your presence, huh?" I teased as soon as she answered.
"Elena!" I exclaimed, my tone shifting to mock indignation. "You never call me anymore! What's a best friend gotta do to get some attention around here?"
Elena chuckled on the other end of the line. "I'm sorry, Liv. Things have been crazy lately."
I sobered up immediately, concern seeping into my voice. "Is everything okay? You sound... off."
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and I could almost hear Elena debating whether or not to tell me the truth.
"I... I need to tell you something," she finally said, her voice quiet. "It's about Gabriel."
