The elegant and graceful swordsmanship that the former owner of his body practiced seemed to be ingrained deep into his muscle memory. The style itself was self taught which was a incredible feat in and of it self, Although Angel didn't have talent in magic he could at least say that this was one area where he excelled.
'But it seems flawed'
Angel couldn't put a finger on it but every swing of his hand and every movement of his muscles felt out of place, It almost felt like he was lacking a missing component to complete it.
It needed to be perfected
Angel felt hesitation as he realized, The truth being that he didn't know if he the capabilities to complete a self taught sword style. Although he had the memories and knowledge to do so Angel knew that in such a situation it would take much more then simple knowledge.
'At least it can still be used' Angel thought before he looked down at the blade on more time and prepared himself for what came next.
Aura
The energy that was converted from Mana and was stored in a Aura core. Although similar to Mana, It had very major differences that separated the two between a very large valley.
Angel slowly closed his eye's and focused, Soon he could sense a solid Core In the left side of his abdomen.
It wasn't uncomfortable, After all he couldn't even feel it unless he cast his mind to do so. He knew there was a similar but very different core on the other side of his waist as well but he ignored it for now and slowly started to will his Aura to spread out into his body.
The feeling could be described as a incorporeal stream traveling through his entire being, It happened in a instant and he soon felt his body change, His muscle's felt stronger, His body felt more durable and even his mind seemed to feel clearer.
"So this is Aura?" Angel held out his free hand and clenched his hand.
"Three times stronger or maybe a bit more?"
He wondered as he lowered his hand before raised the hand with the blade and he swung down with all his force. The blade slashed through the air but unlike before it was much faster to the point it would be very hard for someone to react to it, bringing a smile to the handsome face of the wielder.
Angel could feel the Aura in his core slowly being consumed although not a incredibly fast pace, He decided to continue his experiments as he willed all the Aura in his body to move toward his left hand.
He felt his strength from the other parts of his body return to their normal state while the power in his hand grew even more then before. Clenching his hand he swung the blade once more, This time the blade was a blur of nothing but shining metal.
'The affect grows if I focus on a single part of my body, Interesting' Angel couldn't help but chuckle slightly.
He could see how versatile Aura could really be, It wasn't just the act of buffing one's body, It was the act of turning your body into a weapon. If you were fighting a stronger opponent then by buffing one's strength could you bridge the gap.
Strength, Speed, Durability, And even endurance could become a crucial winning point in a battle. Even buffing your joints could become a crucial opening that one needs to find victory.
'Being an adept is a good level to start from'
Everyone would prefer to be stronger and Angel was no different, But left with the fact that he still had no hands on experience it was undeniable that he would be need to spend a lot of time getting used to Aura as well as his new body.
'Now my other core….!?'
Angels thoughts were instantly cut off as he felt a foreboding sensation at the core of his body, It was very faint, yet so sharp. Like a guillotine.
It gave him goosebumps, causing his body to jolt subconsciously and before he realized his hand gripped the handle of his blade as slightly turned his body and willed Aura to enter his left arm.
The sword flung from his grasp flying almost like a blur before the clacking sounds of metal sounded out in the barren training area.
"Oh? I must have surprised you young master" A calm voice filled Angel's ears as well as his blade hitting the floor behind him.
'Hm?' Angel was calm as he turned around as he spread Aura through his body before his gaze fell on a older man sheathing his sword with a grim and perhaps slightly annoyed expression.
The older man was perhaps in his seventies, He had short hair that had already grown gray covering his head as well as his face in a scruffy bread. He looked like the type of old man who demanded respect and the eloquent armor he wore was no different.
The purple metal that was the same shade as Angels eye's covered most of his body, Engraved on the left surface of his chest was a wolf with three heads.
The crest of the Valentine family
Despite the daunting and majestic armor the older man gave off the feeling as if he wasn't there, Angel could see his body and yet he felt nothing. Such a thing didn't surprise him after all he was standing in front of a Master, A man who had almost reached the peak martial prowess and would garner respect no matter where he went.
'Gordon Crane'
Angels eye's showed recognition as the name of the man entered his head from his memories and a feeling of annoyance assaulted him.
If the his father the Duke was called the Fang of Valentine then Gordon was the fangs shadow, a shadow was not separate of his maker, it could not act outside the orders of its caster.
Angel calmed the feeling of disgust that was rising in his chest and looked as the older man came closer.
"Forgive me for startling you young master" Gordon's voice was calm yet chilling to the ear.
Angel wasn't short by any means but as the older man came closer he was at least half a meter taller, Gordon bowed his head slightly but it was quite obvious that he wasn't sincere, His gaze was ice cold.
"It's fine" Angel shook his head before smiling softly causing Gordon eyes to widen slightly in surprise.
'What's with that reaction?' Angel was confused not realizing that the former him always had a cold look etched upon his face.
Angel ignored it and clicked his tongue with a small laugh as he looked at Gordon.
"How could I know it's you? I thought it was a vile rodent that was missed by the servants"
Gordons eye's became even colder not that Angel cared, He spoke with a smile on his face. Those who saw his expression could only chalk his word's up as him speaking the truth and yet it didn't change the fact he had compared the Master Gordon crane to a vile rodent.
"What is it? I doubt you came to keep me company?" Angel asked breaking the silence once more not wanting to beat around the bush.
"The Duke has asked for your presence" Gordon spoke calmly but his words almost caused Angel's calm expression to break.
It wasn't every day that his father summoned him, In fact it was incredibly rare. Angel and the Duke seemed to have a unspoken agreement not to involve themselves with one another. The Duke didn't care much about Angel's presence after his half brother started to show off his genius talent.
'When was the last time he called me?' Angel could only say it's been more then a year since he spoke to his father.
It didn't fill him with pleasant feelings, He could only wonder what was so important for the Duke finally call him after so long.
"I see" Angel nodded in response as Gordon showed an indifferent expression.
"I'll escort you my lord"
Gordon spoke but angel only shook his head as he walked forward past the older man, He'd rather not be in company of the older man.
"I know my way" With a smile he tapped Gordon's breast plate twice right on the engraving of the obsidian wolf and left the training area.
Gordon's gaze never leaving his back with a chilling look in his eye and yet there was also a hint of questioning in them.
'How did he notice where I was?'
It was a question he didn't understand, Although he had showed his killing intent his presence was masked the entire time and yet what greeted him was a blade flying at his head with pinpoint accuracy.
His gaze lingered even when the handsome youth left before his body slowly seemed to disappear from the human eye leaving the training area empty once more.
