Peter's heart sank as he settled into the passenger seat of Catherine Parker's police vehicle. He had been dreading this moment since the incident in the woods.
"So, Peter," Catherine began, her eyes fixed on the road ahead. "I've been wanting to ask you some questions."
Peter shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. "What about?"
Catherine's gaze narrowed. "Don't play dumb, Peter. I saw what happened in those woods. You have supernatural abilities."
Peter's mind raced as he tried to come up with a plausible explanation. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Catherine's expression turned skeptical. "Don't lie to me, Peter. I saw you destroy those criminals without touching them. And what about the strange glow surrounding you?"
