The next morning was different from the others. Shiro woke up with the pure determination to win this fight no matter what, but arriving to school would make him develop his doubts on whether he could win or not.
Shiro: "I didn't expect to see you here!"
Unknown Person: "Well I just couldn't wait to fight you, but I need to keep my word and fight you tonight not now so I just crashed by to introduce myself."
Shiro: "Is that really what you're after?"
Unknown Person: "My name is Kenzo Shimizu and I got to say that in this little time I've given you to prepare you have managed to increase the density and wilderness of your aura, but that's still not enough."
Right then and there Kenzo released his aura which came out bursting giving Shiro chills and nearly crushing his will to fight.
Kenzo: "Was this really enough to scary? Got to say I'm disappointed. Guess I have overestimated you."
Shrio: "We'll see who underestimated who tonight."
Kenzo: "Uh, I like that confidence of yours. It just makes me more eager to crush all your hopes of winning."
Shiro: "Don't worry I'll make sure that you don't get the chance to do that."
With a huge grin on his face Kenzo left without saying any other words.
Chiyo: "You sure look happy to fight him."
Kenzo: "Ah, Mr. Chiyo I'm glad to see you here."
Kenzo: "Well of course I am. No one has ever managed to keep their cool like that after I released my power. They usually run or beg for their life which makes it less fun for me."
Chiyo: "You're really a twisted person."
Chiyo: "If it wasn't for captain I wouldn't have allowed you to take this task since I know your love for fighting and this could endanger our mission."
Kenzo: "I got to say the kid had a lot of potential and I'm pretty sure he can satisfy me, but will he beat me? Absolutely not."
Chiyo: "Well if you say that It puts me at some sort of ease, but be careful that sword of his, because the moment he pulls it out it's over."
Kenzo: "Uh, what's this about a sword now? You didn't mention that to me earlier."
Chiyo: "That's because I don't understand how it works either, but your friend might once he sees it."
Kenzo: "Ok I'll keep an eye out for that, but right now all I want is to eat something tasty since I've had my hand full this week with new host cases that I didn't have any time to eat properly."
Chiyo: "So it's true more and more hosts are appearing."
Kenzo: "Yes, I think it's time for them to make their move."
Kenzo: "And don't you have classes right now won't you get in trouble for skipping classes?"
Chiyo: "AH SH*IT I TOTALLY FORGOT!"
Back at school Shiro couldn't shake of that bad feeling he had and doubts had started consuming his consciousness.
Shiro: "That aura was terrifying. I could barely muster the strength to speak in his presence."
Kageboshi: "He surely seems to have gotten into you by displaying that little power."
Shiro: "What do you mean by little that was way more than what Chiyo had and as a reminder we barely managed to defeat him even though he wasn't going all out at the time."
Kageboshi: "Do you know how were ranked in the demon world."
Shiro: "No I don't. Why are you bringing that up? What does it have to do with this situation?"
Kageboshi: "You humans seem to refer to us with different names 'Devils', 'Demons' ext., but they're not the name of our species. They're the ranks in which we identify."
Kageboshi: "The first level is 'Imp' which is given to us when we're born. The second level is 'Elite Imps' at which we evolve after earning enough power to fight. The third is 'Devil' at which we evolve after mastering control over our dark energy. The fourth one is 'Demon' which is the second hardest rank to achieve and only a hand full of devils manage that."
Shiro: "Wait second hardest? Than what's the hardest?"
Kageboshi: "For now that's all you need to know."
Shiro: "But why is that important and what rank are you?"
Kageboshi: "It is important because my rank is 'Demon' and I will teach you how to utilize this to your advantage once we leave class."
Shiro: "That's awesome! Than do you mean I stand a chance cause my opponent is a 'Devil' is that it."
Kageboshi: "No he's definitely a 'Demon' Chiyo was a 'Devil'."
Shiro: "WHAT!!! THAN HOW AM I F*CKING SUPPOSED TO FIGHT SOMEONE WHICH IS THE SAME RANK BUT HAS A HIGHER BOND WITH HIS DEMON THAN ME???"
Kageboshi: "Firstly his bond wasn't just higher. It was way higher."
Shrio: "THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT AS**OLE!"
Kageboshi: "Secondly. This can be used to our advantage since his confidence will be of the charts and he will underestimate us. This will lead to him lowering his guard and leaving us an opening to attack, but we should end him with that attack or else we're done for."
Shiro: "That sentence started so good but ended so badly." "Sobbing"
Kageboshi: "Don't worry as long as you have me your victory is mostly guaranteed. Just focus on what you learned during training last night and you'll be fine."
Shiro: "Ok than, but to be sure let's train again once class is finished."
Teacher: "SHIRO TACHIBANA!!!"
Shiro: "AHH, Yes miss what the matter?"
Teacher: "I've been calling your name and you didn't even bother to answer. Read the third sentence out loud please."
Shiro: "Yes, miss."
Shiro: "He then went to the nearest coffee shop and-"
Teacher: "What are you reading that's the previous lesson?"
Shiro: "Ah, sorry."
Teacher: "What's gotten into you these days you've been spacing out all the time. That's it I don't care that you're a straight 'A' student after school I want you to meet me at my office we have a lot to discuss."
Shiro: "Ok miss."
Shirp Thinking: "Sh*t there goes my opportunity to train after school."
After everything was done Shiro although nervous went to the meeting place and was ready to take Kenzo on. When he arrived he saw both Kenzo and Chiyo waiting for him.
Kenzo: "Oh look you really came here. Aren't you scared to fight me?"
Shiro: "Why should I be scared of you? You're just another idiot like Chiyo who only knows how to talk."
Chiyo: "Why you arrogant little sh*t!"
Shiro: "Why are you getting mad I'm complimenting you? You suck at putting two words together too."
Kenzo: "Calm down Chiyo. Remember his my prey and I won't tolerate any intervenience."
Chiyo: "Don't worry, I won't intervene."
Kenzo: "Now step away, because it's time to get this party started."
Shiro: "Come on I'm read-"
Before Shiro could even finish his words Kenzo was already at his face.
Shiro: "Sh*t I need to defend."
Kageboshi: "Use shadow manipulation to stop it!"
Shiro didn't waste any time and quickly used shadow manipulation to defend against Kenzos attack and create some distance between them.
Kenzo: "That's a cool trick. What else do you have to show me?"
Shiro used shadow creation to make a dagger for himself and with the training he received he now was able to even materialize the shadow.
Kenzo: "That's a cool little toy, but how well can you use it?"
Shiro: "Why don't you come and find out?"
Both charged at each other and now the fight between two monsters officially began.
