As soon as the Cardinals began to oppose Piccolomini, I started to feel extremely unwell. I felt as though my insides were burning more intensely than ever before in my life. Honestly, I had been poisoned once before when I was in Wallachia, but nothing like this had ever happened.

"Father Antonio, are you alright? You know, I think you should tell the Cardinals more about the reforms," Piccolomini said.

"R-Reforms? Y-Yes... I thought that—"

I didn't get to finish what I was saying because, right after that, I began to spit out blood mixed with black foam coming from my throat. When Cesare saw this, he realized I had been poisoned. It seemed I needed someone's help, and I didn't know how this would end.

"P-Poison. I accuse Cardinal Piccolomini of this! The Pope must be informed about this!" I began to shout with my last strength before everything turned black.
