Even though I felt appreciated by all the faithful gathered around me as around a spiritual shepherd, I was somewhat worried about the implications of my presence. Honestly, I would not want people to stop praying to God and start praying to me, so I thought it would be good to remind those around me of this matter.
"Brothers, I understand that you recognize a certain holiness in me, but this should not drive the love for God and our Lord out of your hearts. Do not forget that before being a bishop, I am a man like you who needs your prayers. Therefore, please rise and return calmly to your places."
The people began to rise and rejoice as they left the cathedral to go to their places. It seems that those in the courtyard who had not managed to see me up close tried to do the same as the others, but I stopped them, contenting myself with blessing them in the name of the Lord.
