Chapter 1 - The Beginning of the End

In the seemless end of gray horizon, dust all of shades flew restless around the man in the midst of the ending battle. This man, who stood with his head hung low with heavens gaze laying on a burden at his shoulders... This man whose eyes turmoiled with the bluest of oceans, what once were bright and devoted had been left with shallow surrender. His inky hair which had been slick with sweat and blood from battle cascaded his own lifeless eyes, leaving an even more tragic scene for curious eyes. This had who had not even had a beating heart...had died at my own hands.

Norton DeLuca is a figment of my imagination, a man of my own creation built upon words and lines. The life that I failed to give him had now been unfairly stripped away from him by my own hands before I could even offer it to him.

The dust had long settled along with the time my own creation had died. In the far distance away from the battle came the merry cheers of joy from on-watchers and Redeemers. During the fight with Elysion, I had not once seem them raise a blade much less a sword to aid my brother in his most dire moments, not even those he helped before. Regardless, somehow I already knew he wouldn't blame them. Because all he wanted was to save the people and return them to their families... To finally end this wretched game. This Hyung of mine is much like a saint...but not me.

The grey clouds parted from the sky as inhumanly giant, white hands struck to the ground. It's palms digging deep into the ground. First it was one, then it was two....then three more identical ones came crashing down. At each hand that came striking down, I struck the same at the people gathered around. Those merry cheers that sung cries of joy turned to shrieks of horror as blood rained. When the final hand placed itself in front of me, there had been no other living person left to muse.

At the top of the hand came an eerie vibration at a tune. I only realized it had been a voice speaking when it finally finished it's introductions. The Host.

"The Host of this game congratulates it's grand winner and presents to you, Eurydice Averian, a gift." The Vibrations of this Host's voice moved gray pebbles and dust at every word. The giant hand that sat in front of Eurydice glowed a blinding white as gold veins clung onto its solid skin. At the back of its hand emerged from thin air was an orb caged by incantations. Eurydice had been playing this game for almost an entire year now along with the brother that she had created. Now he was gone. And no spell could bring him back. Eurydice already knew this world could not allow life to come back, even life that had been fake. Norton had already lived a life that mimicked one of a real living being. To bring him back would be to pull an extra gear placed on a broken clock in order to fix it. To bring him back would mean the end of both real and fake worlds. And Eurydice had already realized this too late. Her head sunk deep into her hands. Whatever gift this fucking Host had to offer now wouldn't compare to her brother. Eurydice had already lost the one thing she wanted. Eurydice just wanted her brother back. She wanted to scream, wanted to tell this fucking Host to get lost. Wanted to tear herself apart as she had with the people her brother had sacrificed himself to save. Wanted to cry but couldn't. She just wanted her brother back then maybe she'll be good. Was one person who didn't exist so much to ask for?

But the Host only laughed. The sickening vibrations sang in a beat at seeing the display of Eurydice's despair. Hands that were already bloody and battered shook on her face as she glared at the invisible face from the sky. The Host, seemingly amused by her agitation carried on before she could burst from madness any longer.

"This gift is like no other gifts from within the game, see?" The incantations from around the orb broke open, revealing a tiny golden sphere from within. "This gift here is special, rivaling time and space. This is matter itself."

At the mention of this, Eurydice spared a glance at the seemingly ordinary golden sphere. Then shot back her gaze at the Host. To be hopeful would be foolish. To be despair would be pathetic.

"Though, it does not bring the dead back. That decoy of a human you created had fooled fate enough to be guaranteed as human. He is no exception to this rule." The Host continued regardless if Eurydice had already been aware of this. This world was a mimic of the real world, and Norton was a mimic of a human created by Eurydice. Staggering up to her feet, Eurydice reached out towards the golden sphere deep within the orb. She had already figured out what this is. A wish. This golden sphere could grant any wishes. Wishes of past, present and future could easily be granted by a few words from where she stood. But she had no wishes left. Norton DeLuca could never be human. Never again. Could not coexist with her.

He couldn't...

"I'll make my wish." Eurydice said, a sudden thought coming to mind. If Norton couldn't come back then she'll just have to be the one to go to him. As if sensing her wish from her mind, the hands lurched towards her in a desperate fashion. The Host, unable to do anything, merely watched as the multiple hands attempted to crush down Eurydice. But Eurydice had already made her wish. A hand came crashing down on the spot where she stood, a loud bang erupted throughout the horizon. Replaced where Eurydice's dismantled, crushed body should have been, was an empty broken sphere no longer glowing.

Teresivokha stood in the middle of this fake world. Twelve months ago, the world had revolved without a muddle out of place. A still ocean of blue and ordinary. Young and apathetic Eurydice had been eighteen before the world flipped into a mirage. By the time she awoke, everything had already been replaced.
