Li Luoyang's voice cracked, barely a whisper as she confronted the scene before her. "...Brother, you did that again... sacrifice..." Her eyes darted between the dying woman and Zhin, disbelief etched on her face.
Zhin, his back still turned to her, scoffed. "Don't be ridiculous, Li Luoyang. I haven't done anything yet. This girl was attacked by a bear earlier."
The woman on the ground whimpered, a weak plea escaping her lips.
Li Luoyang's gaze flickered back to her brother, his powerful aura still thrumming in the cavern. Something didn't add up. The woman's Qi signature was fading rapidly, a sure sign of a life force being drained.
"Zhin, Explain this. Now," Li Luoyang pressed, her voice gaining a steely edge.
