Alex stood behind them, waiting to see what his companions planned.
Alex fidgeted impatiently behind Amelia and Lyra. Their slow, deliberate approach felt agonizingly cautious. Sneaking wasn't exactly his forte.
Maybe I should just yell, Wouldn't that be faster?'
Unable to resist his impulsive nature any longer, Alex threw his hands up and let out a loud, primal scream that echoed through the night.
"Waaa!"
Lyra and Amelia whirled around, startled.
"Alex! What are you doing?" Lyra hissed, her voice barely a whisper.
"I, uh… I just felt like it?"
His explanation was cut short by a cacophony of startled goblin shrieks erupting from within the mineshaft.
"Zbwreak!" Groans and curses followed, punctuated by the unmistakable sound of things being knocked over in the darkness.
Amelia rolled her eyes, a sigh escaping her lips. "Well, that takes care of the stealth approach, guess it's time to get to work."
