Alex couldn't help himself. The theatrics were getting a little out of hand. "Hmm... basic villain monologue."
The crimson glow in Xal'adar's eyes intensified. "What did you say?!"
Alex, unfazed, gave a nonchalant shrug. "Just an observation, Big talk about ultimate power, but somehow I doubt you can handle it."
Xal'adar's face contorted in rage. "Insolent fool!" he shrieked, tightening his grip on the Heart of Obsidan. Dark energy crackled around the artifact, threatening to burst forth.
"See? You can barely control it now, and you think you can handle its full power? Talk about a recipe for disaster."
Maya, initially taken aback by Alex's audacity, couldn't help but crack a small smile.
Xal'adar, enraged by Alex's words, seemed to momentarily lose control. Dark energy surged from the Heart of Obsidan, wrapping around his arm and searing his flesh. He screamed in pain, dropping the artifact to the ground with a clang.
