They rounded a bend in the passage, and the air grew thick with a fetid stench. Up ahead, a faint, sickly green glow emanated from a doorway.
As they approached, the grotesque source of the light became clear – skeletal remains, piled high and overflowing from the doorway, their empty sockets glowing with the same eerie green light.
"Looks like we've found the source of the restless spirits," Alex muttered, his voice grim.
"And the source of the ward's failure," Maya added, her eyes narrowed in concern. The sheer number of undead was staggering, a testament to the power the Heart of Obsidan must possess.
"We can't just leave them here, They'll keep rising and causing trouble." He reached for his Golden Sage Box, his finger hovering over the activation button.
"Wait! There has to be another way. Destroying them all will take forever, and the real threat lies beyond this doorway." Maya hissed, placing a hand on his arm
