A bustling scene unfolded behind the village head's house. Carts piled high with lumber and woven baskets overflowing with fragrant herbs filled the courtyard. Alex whistled in appreciation. This was a much larger haul than he anticipated.
"Here's the cargo. Just keep an eye out for any trouble, alright?"
"Easy enough," he replied, a reassuring grin spreading across his face.
The village head clapped his hands together. "Alright then, if you're ready, we can set off immediately! "Drivers! To Zuberk Kingdom, we ride!"
A chorus of "Yes sir!" echoed from the group of men who would be guiding the carriages. Alex noticed several of them eyeing him with a mixture of curiosity and respect.
He climbed into the designated lookout position—a small platform attached to the back of the last carriage. From this vantage point, he could survey the entire caravan and the surrounding forest.
