His voice was eerie as he spoke, so faint that Talon couldn't even really hear him. Both of them had an objective inside the building, one more important than the one they had been assigned.
But neither of them was sane enough to care. Only anger remained.
Looking down at his belt, Jin saw there was only one magazine left attached to it. He would be out of ammunition soon. With a quick motion, he ejected the empty magazine, letting it fall into the water.
Reloading his gun, he switched his gaze to Talon, who looked back at him.
Talon was reaching into his coat pocket, touching a small item. Jin couldn't guess the reason for this action, but he could see, he could feel, the doubt in Talon's movements.
Whatever it was, Talon decided to keep it there before going back to his blade, grasping the handle even tighter.
