Chapter 10 - feeling of unease

The sun's warm rays cast long shadows across Emily's face as she strolled through the park, her senses on high alert. She couldn't shake off the feeling of unease, like an impending storm lingered on the horizon. Something big was about to happen, something that would change her life forever.

Emily's instincts screamed warnings, but her rational mind refused to listen. She tried to calm her racing thoughts, attributing the anxiety to her recent encounter with Leo.

To distract herself, Emily indulged in her favorite treats – sweet ice cream, crunchy snacks, and a juicy burger. The fleeting pleasure helped, but the nagging sense of foreboding persisted.

Unbeknownst to Emily, Victor, Leo's power-hungry brother, seethed with rage in the vampire kingdom. His dark past, marked by patricide, fueled his malevolent ambitions.

Victor's grip on the throne tightened as he schemed against Leo, his rival and potential threat. The prophecy, foretelling Leo's rise to power, haunted Victor's every waking moment.

In the shadows, Patriarch Blackwood cautioned Leo, "Protect Emily at all costs, Leo. Victor's instability grows by the day."

Leo's jaw clenched, determination burning within. "I will, Grandfather. This is my chance for revenge."

Patriarch Blackwood's expression turned somber. "I once opposed your quest for vengeance, Leo, but now I see its necessity. Victor's tyranny must end."

Leo's eyes flashed with resolve. "It will, Grandfather. With Emily by my side, I'll reclaim my rightful place."

As night descended, Emily's unease intensified. The unknown loomed, casting long shadows across her path. She couldn't shake off the feeling that her life was about to take a drastic turn.

Meanwhile, Victor's malevolent plans took shape, threatening to destroy the fragile balance between the vampire kingdom and Emily's unsuspecting world.

In the darkness, Leo watched, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. His heart beat with anticipation, his mind focused on the impending battle.

The stars twinkled above, witness to the unfolding drama. Emily's life was about to intersect with the vampire kingdom's destiny, forever altering her fate.

Victor's dark laughter echoed through the castle corridors, a chilling harbinger of the chaos to come. The prophecy's fulfillment drew near, and Emily stood at the center, unaware of the storm surrounding her.

Leo's silent vow echoed through the shadows: "I will protect her, no matter the cost."I would make you mine 🔥

Leo settled into his favorite armchair by the castle window, cradling a glass of crimson liquid in his hand. The blood's rich aroma filled the air as he twirled the glass, lost in thought. His mind wandered to Emily, and he couldn't resist the urge to call her.

"Hello?" Emily's voice was a gentle melody.

"Hello, my dear," Leo said, his deep voice low and smooth. "I don't like the way you answer my calls. From now on, address me as 'dear,' 'darling,' or 'husband.'"

Emily's giggles echoed through the line. "Okay, dear."

"I want our contract to be convincing," Leo continued. "This marriage may be arranged, but it will be real. We'll attend social gatherings together, and you'll meet my grandfather soon."

"I understand," Emily replied.

"My assistant, Jenkins, will take you shopping for suitable attire. I want you to look stunning when we're introduced to society."

"Thank you, dear," Emily said.

"How's your sister's surgery progressing?" Leo inquired.

"The surgery was a success," Emily replied, relief evident in her voice. "She's out of danger now."

Leo's expression softened. "I'm glad to hear that."

"Don't mention it, Emily," Leo interrupted. "We're family now."

"Okay, dear," Emily agreed.

The conversation drew to a close, and Leo ended the call with a gentle, "Have a nice day, darling."

"You too, darling," Emily replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Leo chuckled quietly, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. He dialed another number, connecting with Jenkins.

"Jenkins, take my future wife shopping. Buy her the finest clothes, the ones I would choose myself. She'll be meeting my grandfather soon."

Jenkins's voice was efficient. "Understood, sir. I'll ensure she's prepared."

Leo's gaze drifted back to the window, lost in thought. The vampire kingdom's intricate politics swirled around him, but his focus remained on Emily.

The sleek, black Bentley Mulsanne pulled up to Emily's doorstep, its polished surface reflecting the sunlight. Jenkins, Leo's trusted driver, stepped out, his expression impeccably professional.

"Good morning, ma'am," Jenkins greeted, opening the door for Emily.

Emily's mother, observing the luxurious vehicle, raised an eyebrow. "Wow, who's this young master you're going out with?" she whispered to Emily.

Emily's cheeks flushed. "'It's none of your business , Aunt"

As Emily settled into the car, Jenkins addressed her, "Ma'am, shall we proceed?"

Emily's eyes sparkled. "Please, don't call me ma'am. I'm not that old. Just Emily or Miss Emily, please."

Jenkins's expression remained neutral. "Of course, Miss Emily. Though, if the young master is present, I may need to address you differently."

Emily smiled. "That's fine. Just Miss is fine."

As the car glided through the streets, Emily turned to Jenkins. "May I ask about your boss? What's he like?"

Jenkins's gaze flicked to the rearview mirror. "Mr. Blackwood is...particular. He values discretion and elegance."

"And what does he dislike?" Emily pressed.

Jenkins hesitated before responding, "Disloyalty and frivolity."

Emily nodded thoughtfully. "And please, don't buy anything too expensive for me. I just want to look beautiful, not extravagant."

Jenkins's expression remained stoic. "My instructions were clear, Miss Emily. Even if it's the most expensive attire, you must look exceptional in it. Limited editions only."

The Bentley arrived at the upscale shopping mall, its grandeur leaving Emily breathless. The interior was a marvel of luxury, with designer boutiques and bespoke services.

As they strolled through the mall, Emily's eyes widened at the price tags. Gucci, Chanel, and Versace – every renowned designer had a presence here.

Jenkins guided her to a private salon, where a personal stylist awaited. "Welcome, Miss Emily. We've prepared a selection of exquisite gowns for you."

Emily's unease grew as she browsed the racks. "I don't want to waste Leo's money."

The stylist smiled. "Don't worry, Miss Emily. Mr. Blackwood's instructions were explicit. You're to have the best."

As the fitting began, Emily couldn't shake off the feeling that she was living a fairy tale – one that might vanish at any moment.she giggled quickly when she thought of the fluttering feeling she felt when talking to leo

Jenkins's discreet presence reassured her, his eyes watchful as he ensured Emily's every need was met.

With each passing minute, Emily's transformation took shape. The expensive fabrics, the precise tailoring, and the expert styling all combined to create a vision of elegance.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the mall, Emily gazed at her reflection. The woman staring back was unrecognizable – poised, sophisticated, and radiant.

"Thank you, Jenkins," Emily said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jenkins's expression softened. "It's my pleasure, Miss Emily. You look stunning."

The Bentley's engine purred to life, transporting Emily back home.

As they drove, Emily's phone buzzed with an incoming text from Leo.

"Darling, how was your shopping experience?"

Emily's heart skipped a beat. "It was wonderful, thank you."

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," Leo replied. "You'll be meeting my grandfather soon. Be prepared
