Chapter 79 - The Reckless Ride

It is illegal to drive or operate machinery at the age of ten. However, like any kid around that age, the word "machine" aroused my interest more than the word "cars."

So, thanks to this, I found myself learning how to operate yellow machines, and I was particularly good at using backhoe loaders.

Honestly, I'm not trying to brag, as anyone can do it if they know how to drive.

Don't believe me? Let me show you!

Normally, in traveling condition, the bucket is kept a few inches above the ground. However, now I was in a fight.

Taking hold of the control lever, I pulled it back, raising the loader to chest height, and instantly pulled it to my left to position the bucket.

Pew—! Pew—! Pew—!

The criminals discharged bullets which were successfully intercepted by the loader. Nevertheless, in order to prevent their escape, I took control of the machine and initiated its operation.

"Aghhk! You crazy kid! That car costs hundreds of thousands!" Lexi exclaimed as she watched my front tire smash the Maybach we came in.

Her small hands hugged the top part of my chair as she struggled to maintain her footing due to my reckless driving.

Seriously, what did she expect from a ten-year-old?

Ignoring her, I pushed the control lever forward to lower the loader and pulled it to the right until the blades were at the height of a normal person's chest.

Smash—!

Vroom—!

I increased the pressure on the gas pedal, smashing the Maybach into a fine paste before rushing towards the SUV nearby.

The robbers tried firing bullets at me, but they all ran away, afraid of being beheaded by the loader's blades.

If any of them were to oppose me, I would not resort to murder. This is because I was still a minor at the time and did not possess malicious intent.

I moved the roller up, and the front half of the car raised into the air. As soon as the loader touched the windshield, my fingers brought the roller down.

Crack—!

The windshield broke into bits. However, this chaos worked to my advantage as my loader grabbed the SUV, lifting it into the air before sending it flying into another car.

Bam—!

Boom—!

Thanks to the gasoline, the cars quickly exploded. But that didn't mean I was going to stop destroying cars.

Vroom—!

Directing my machine towards the solitary sedan situated in the rear, the driver promptly reversed his vehicle, resulting in my propulsion towards the adjacent steel barriers.

"Aghhk!!" Lexi exclaimed, not wanting me to hit the items in front of the backhoe loader.

Drifting like a professional racer, I avoided hitting the steel bars, only to be greeted by a barrage of bullets coming at me.

Pew—! Pew—! Pew—!

Luckily, my loader was already covering the windshield, but the back of the machine was vulnerable, as a few robbers stood there with their guns.

Crack—!

The window showed how fragile it was, breaking into pieces with just one bullet, leaving us vulnerable.

However, they didn't fire any more bullets, as they didn't want to anger the eagles of the world. But that didn't mean they stopped attacking the front.

Trying to take advantage of the situation, I made one of the worst mistakes of my life.

"Rich girl, take over the wheel! Make sure to never touch the controls!"

Lexi acquiesced with a nod and took her place in the driver's seat, as I positioned myself at the rear to enable access to the backhoe boom controls by unlocking them.

Bam—!

Before I could do anything, the blond girl charged straight into a car, letting out a wicked laughter like a sly fox.

"Kukuku..."

I tried my best to ignore her and the two controls on my left that controlled the stabilizer legs, despite their importance in controlling the backhoe bucket.

I adjusted the position of the joystick on my left side, causing the stick to extend and form a ninety-degree angle with the boom. I then proceeded to lower the boom slightly by manipulating the right joystick.

Wham—!

I swayed my left joystick to the left, and the backhoe moved in that direction, crashing into an SUV that was sent flying into the nearby bridge.

Crash... Crash... Crash...

I could hear the machine stepping on top of a few vehicles as I brought the backhoe back to its original position by moving the left joystick to the right.

However, that wasn't the end of it, as my driver crashed into steel pipes, knocking them all over the place.

Taking advantage of the grip and size of our wheels, Lexi increased the speed of the machine by shifting gears.

Nevertheless, she wasn't fast enough, as a few cars started following behind us.

Where were we going? Honestly, I had no idea. All I needed to do was complete my mission.

Trying to get rid of the pests coming at me with guns on top of their cars, I pushed my right joystick to the east, opening up my bucket.

The second after, I extended my dipper and lowered the boom, stretching it all out until it was a perfect straight line.

Note: Never try this without using the stabilizer arms.

However, I did it. The backhoe started swaying left and right, breaking down every vehicle that dared to come behind us.

Once I was sure that the chaos I had caused was enough to scare away the robbers, my right hand pulled back the joystick on its side, raising the boom.

"Tito, put on your seat belt!"

"I don't have a seat belt!" I replied to Lexi's sudden exclamation with an angry voice as I turned my whole body around.

Instantly, my eyes scanned the sight in front of me. "What the hell are you doing!? Stop the machine!"

The backhoe loader was going uphill against a raising bridge at a speed I couldn't even reach with it.

"I can't! Both brake pedals are not working!"

Sweat drenched my body as my hand extended to the start key.

However, it broke apart the moment I tried twisting it, and to make it worse, my phone was nowhere to be found.

"Hold on tight!"
