I wanted that place to be my resting place, right next to my beloved. But not destroyed, we fought many battles against raiders and before you came we were at our wits end, it was there when I thought i would lose everything all over again."
"You came and saved what was left of the village," the old man's voice started to tremble, his body shaking ever so slightly. And I did thank you after the battle, but now… it means so much more. Thank you for all you have done for us, really, thank you." At the end of his speech, the old man turned to face Gresvin.
What Gresvin saw was the face of a weary old man, tears striking down the sides of his face as appreciation and relief sparkled in his eyes.
