Chapter 14 - chapter 11

I sliced my sword through the last cyclops. Sweat was laced across my forehead. My muscles ached as I swung my sword but I didn't care. It didn't hurt as much as Bill's death.

Compared to the pain I felt when his head dropped to the floor, I would rather gut myself over and over again if it was to ensure that Bill would live. But Luke, the man who betrayed the gods simply because he didn't get the attention he wanted, took it all away from me.

I had left camp a week ago and went on my own adventure. An adventure full of grief and anger. The adventure which will give me the strength I will need to kill Luke and his whole army to ensure that he would never inflict the pain that he caused me to others. No time for fun and games. Only time to train and forcibly move through the grief.

My sword fell to the ground as I sat on the grassy land that I fought upon. The wind causing the sweat that laced my body to cool down. My breathing calmed as I looked scanned my surroundings for any underlining threats.

I was in a park. The trees were nice and tall while the grass was soft. The park was also in a secluded area so I could be alone, well alone with monsters. I had used this park for a makeshift home base for the past 3 days.

I had allowed monsters to flow in. This was for me to be able to grasp how to fight. I didn't need no teacher because I was mine own. I would use different weapons to kill each monster that came by. Sword slicing you apart, flames that burn you to a crisp, and wind blades that cut you up like sushi.

I was on a rampage and the monsters kept fueling me like an engine running on gas. And noting would stop me...

I laid down on the soft grass after a hard day slaying monsters. I had search for monsters to fight. May it be across the city or using the internet to attract monsters. I wanted to fight, I felt as if my only purpose was to fight.

Knocking me out of my thoughts, a bright light appeared Infront of me. Standing Infront of me was a 6'5 man with blond hair and blue eyes. He had blue jeans on and a T shirt on. I almost thought he was Luke but he didn't have the scar. He was staring at me expectantly but after I didn't say anything he sighed.

"What are they teaching you at camp. I'm APOLLO. You know the god?" The man now known as Apollo the god said while hanging his shoulders. But I stared at him with the same blank expression I had on my face for 2 weeks.

Apollo looked at me before speaking once more. "I have a job for ya kid." He pointed his finger at me and continued. "I have dropped one of my famous music discs some where around here." He waved his hand around us. "But due to who has it, I cannot intervene without a hero." He smiled and his white teeth practically flashed me.

"What do I get out of it." Apollo seemed shocked that I had asked for a reward. "If you wanted someone to do it without question, then you would have gone to camp but you have came for me. So what do I get out of it." Apollo put his hand on his face in a thinking position before speaking again.

"How about this. A potion that can revive anyone 1 minute after death and is able to heal any wound?" He told me smugly as he put his hand on his hip. I would be a fool to refuse this very good offer, but it was just that. Too good.

"Why would you give me something that rare for this?" I ask in a monotone voice. But despite my lower acting tone, Apollo smile brightly again. "Think of it as me doing someone a favor."

The way Apollo phrased 'someone' was like he wasn't talking about me. But I didn't care. A chance at life again if I somehow fall in battle. There's so many new ways that this opens up for killing Luke. I can fake my own death then come back to life to finish him off.

Apollo saw the greed in my eyes and smiled smugly, like he had won a bet. I take a step back from my scheming and look at Apollo. "Deal, I'll get your disc. But first tell me where is it?"

Apollo seemed to smile more brightly. "In the sewers of course." My jaw dropped slightly as I deadpanned. My shoulder slouched was a counter to how Apollo stood.

"Sigh. Fine I'll get your disc." I got up from my sitting position and grabbed my backpack, which also held my sword. "Close you eyes, it would be a shame if you died." Apollo said in a fake sympathy tone as I closed my eyes.

I had finally made it to the sewer. The real problem was the smell. It was a mix between rotten watermelon and rotten eggs. I couldn't help but wonder why Apollo dropped his disc here of all places. The sun god Apollo among other things, drops his music disc in a smelly pit of this sewer. Well I guess it is like his personality.

"Thud" I quickly turn around with my sword drawn at the sound, only to find a rat. The rat and I shared a look before it lunged at me. I swung my sword in an arch and sliced the rat in half. It exploded in.. golden dust.

I deadpanned at the realization that there was monster rats. But that also gave me a concerned look on my face. If there was one rat, there were multiple.

I pushed forward, not excited to fight monster rats but excited for the reward that Apollo will give to me. The smell of the sewer slowly got to me alongside the tapping sound coming from the rats.

I ventured for 10 minutes before I found it. A giant ass rat king. We had one back at Olive Garden in the gym, pretty ugly. Multiple rats that get their tail stuck togeather. The thing that makes this thing worse was THE DAMN RATS WERE THE SIZE OF A DOG AND THERE WERE EASILY 20 OF THEM IN THERE!

The rats all tried to move around but were pulled back by their stuck tails, this had severed for them to realize my presence and stare at me. 5 seconds past before they each reveal 2 large teeth that were around 2 feet long and lunge at me, the problem of their tail no more.

Just before one could bite me in the neck, I shot some fire down it's throat and it fell back, pulling the others with it ending their first attack. And now it was time for my counter attack. I pulled my right foot back and wave my left hand in an arch. Flames followed suit and I used some air to amplify it, also forming a current of air to my mouth and nose so I could still breathe.

The angry screams of the rats gave me the energy that I lost using that. I wanted to destroy these rats, I wanted to cut them limb from limb. Why? Because they're standing in my way.

Suddenly a rat emerged from the flame and tried to bite my face off. But I caught it in my left hand and tightened my grip around its neck then I brought my right hand, which held my sword, up into its stomach. It erupted in golden dust and the flames slowly died down to reveal the rats, alive, but heavily burned.

It was not a good idea to fight me in a closed up space. Hell it just wasn't smart to fight anyone who can produce flames in an enclosed space. These rats learned first hand why.

"SCREECH!" The rats voiced their pain and fury as they rushed me once more. I threw my sword in the middle of all the rats, where their tails connected. This effectively stuck them in place. I then simply walked around them, avoiding their range.

I scanned the room for the disc. "Bingo." I say with a smirk after seeing the disc in the corner. I pick it up. It was golden in color and had "Apollo's rhymes".

The rats made a feral scream when I picked it up, it made me direct my attention back to them.

"Don't worry, I will get rid of the smell. Heard burning bodies makes the smell go away." I walk off then I snap my fingers.

"FOOSH!" Flames erupted behind me as I walk away, listen to the screams of the rats. I avoid the other rats on my way out.

And finally once I am on top, I turn back and release a flame current, mixing it with some air to make it more potent. I pretty much just gassed everything in there. 'Hopefully there wasn't some homeless people down there.'

I begin to walk back to the park where I had met Apollo. I picked up my backpack that I had left outside the sewer. After making sure I wasn't robbed, I was going to continue to walk but a "POP!" sounded out behind me. And none other than Apollo made his presence known.

"It's seeming like you are quite powerful already. Wonder how you will grow." Apollo said with glee as he held his hand out. I brought out the disc and handed it to him.

He smiled happily and hugged this disc. I wouldn't be surprised if he started kissing it.

"My reward?" I voiced out to remind him.

"Oh right, here you go. Also the more you use all those powers you got there, the less tired and burnt out you get." I rose an eyebrow and Apollo continued, "Just to help a demigod. No other motives here." He smiled then I blinked. He vanished without a trace.

I look at the tiny bottle of a golden liquid. I was temped to drink it but I ignored that.

I looked up at the trees. "Bill says hello."

Taisho secret

Apollo gave Atem the potion because he was interested in getting a favor from 1 god and 1 goddess. This would ultimately save him from quite the punishment.
