Camp Half-Blood had a lot of activities scheduled throughout the day, from 8 AM to 6 PM. First, it was breakfast which I enjoyed because who doesn't like free food, especially if it is good food.
Then we had sword and shield practice at the arena with the Ares cabin. I was paired with Leyla and she taught me a few moves, heck I even bested her once... Out of 20. But she did say that I had good potential for this.
There also flying horses, Pegasus. When I tried to ride them, the backed away. One of them tried to bite me. Sooo they don't really like me sadly.
We also have a climbing wall that has lava spewing on it, monster assault techniques, and then at the end of the day we pretty much just have a free period to do whatever.
But on Fridays, we have capture the flag. And from what Bill, Conor, and Travis told me, this is not your normal game of capture the flag.
They told me that we use real weapons and there are no rules besides maiming. Travis told me that he and Conor are going to prank the enemy team and I am welcome to join them. I am of course going to join them.
Think how much fun it will be! Since most people are coming back on Thursday and some on the weekend, this should be like a mini-war. I can barley stop thinking about it.
There's also this super fun game that Conor said we can do. Prank the Ares Cabin.
They also told me the game plan for that. But we will have to wait until Clarise comes back on tomorrow to do it. And yesterday I arrived here. On another note, I got guard duty with some of Apollo and Hephaestus cabins today. We are going to be put in and around Thaila's tree.
Remember how Bill said that the tree was poisoned? Yeah, so far it has been getting worse. Satyrs and dryads have been doing some nature magic to try to help it. Sometimes it makes it turn greener but when they stop the tree turns back to a sickly yellow.
This also means that the barrier that has been protecting the camp has also been failing more often. Hell, there's also some talk about the barrier completely failing. That would be bad, bad as in hundreds of monsters swarming camp. The safe haven turns into a sitting duck camp. Would not be the best place to spend your summer, 2/5.
"Yo Atem you are going to be paired with Nessler for the outskirts. Got that?" A burly Ares kid said which snapped me out of my thoughts. Even though they are not doing border patrol currently, they still tell you who you will be paired with and where you will patrol.
Nessler is a child of Apollo. I turned and saw him. He was about an inch shorter than me with blond hair and blue eyes. He had tanned skin with a birthmark on his neck. It was shaped like the sun, not one of those circle one but one with spikes like sun rays.
He turned to face me. "So you're Atem? I'm Nessler, nice to meet you." I returned the greeting as we both began to talk just about random stuff while on the way to the outskirts.
Nessler informed me that you'll probably just see maybe a monster or 2 once in a while but it had been getting more frequent. But since we guard the outskirts we are actually more of a scouts. We see a monster, kill it or return to base and then more come and we kill it.
(A/N, first couple of chapters are going to be similar to an info dump but when bronze bulls come and Percy arrives there will be more action. I am also trying to write in a way that's current and not like an info dump)

"Wow there really weren't that many monsters this time around." Bill says as we sit in the middle of the forest. After border patrol, I decided to hang out with Bill. I had some M&Ms with me while Bill was eating the rapper. "Yeah, they said it was our lucky day. Conor also said that he and Travis would get the arrow from the Apollo's cabin. After that we wait then we do it. Are you sure you don't want to join? It will be fun."
"I am pretty sure I've seen those 2 prank some people. May it be by stealing or doing some other stuff. I remember last month when I Iris messaged Chiron he had a pink beard." Bill let out a short laugh, I did too. Just imagine Chiron with a pink beard hahaha. Our laughing was stopped when we heard the horn for dinner. We exchanged looks before bolting outside of the forest.
First I was in the lead before Bill caught up to me then got in the lead and kept it. "You are still too slow." Bill mocked me as we made our way to dinner.
I shot him a side-eye glare. Once I sat at the Hermes table, I grabbed some of the food that I would give to the gods. Yeah, we have to give food to the almighty gods with the power over the sea or the sky. No, in fact we have to burn it for them like a smoker addicted to nicotine.
The first day I arrived I wanted to start digging in immediately but Travis stopped me and said we had to burn a part of our food to the gods. Apparently, they like the smell of burnt food.
We all stood up and moved to the "vape shop for the gods". I threw in some of my grapes. I thought the smell would be horrid but it actually smelled nice. After that, we could finally sit down and eat. I had a biscuit, grapes, chicken tenders, and a nice cup of Pepsi. I turned to look towards the big table which sat Chiron, who looked dejected, Mr. D and 2 of his kids.
They were actually pretty cool. They helped me in archery and we got along quite well. I grabbed at my grapes and ate like 4 in 1 bite. I took a drink from my cup and bit a chicken in half then proceeded to eat the rest. Overall it was 100% better than any food I had before this.
"Alright children head back to your cabins." Chiron said while standing up. I stood with the Hermes cabin as we walked back towards our cabin. Even though I have only been here for 2 days, this is by far the best place I've been. I was knocked out of my thoughts as I got into the cabin and headed for my sleeping bag in the corner.
Once I laid on the hard wooden floor, I knew that there was 1 bad thing about Camp Half-Blood. The Only downside is the sleeping arrangements. It would be better to sleep on the forest floor than to sleep here. Welp good night.
Taisho Secret
The sleeping arrangements at camp half blood is actually slightly better than the arrangements at olive garden. This is because Olive Garden relies on donations from outside sources and because of that, they mainly focus on the teaching side of it but neglects the orphanage side of it.
