Chapter 41 - Mission Complete

"Hmm that chakra now definitely felt like Yamamoto's" Aiko mutters as he stands up from the floor while stretching his body, " I hope nothing went wrong" he says to himself as he moves out of the tent, intent on finding out what caused the explosion

As soon as he leaves a black figure comes up from the ground. This figure with pure black visage only had his two yellow eyes on his head, one could tell this was not an ordinary creature

"Took a bit of time but I finally found their base" The creature says as he moves to where Aiko was previously siting the scrolls on the table drawing his attention.

"Let's see what's inside this shall we" it says as it draws closer to the scrolls making sure his steps aren't heard.

Just as he is about to touch the scrolls it hears a click sound coming from where he just stepped.

Looking down it sees a pattern lit up from underneath giving him a sense of danger so without hesitation he phases back into the floor and just in the nick of time cause as soon as he left the pattern emits a strong explosion that blows up the tent

Aiko who had just stepped out of the tent is left stunned when he sees his whole tent blowing up, "Everyone relax, go get some water to put out the fire and you take same people and increase patrol, whatever caused this shouldn't have gotten away so soon" he says as he takes command of the situation ordering the clan members while calming down the children and alike.

'That should be the safety mechanism I put in the tent Incase someone tries to steal the scroll' He already known the cause of the mysterious explosion, but what confused him was 'Who Caused it?'.

He had just stepped out of the tent and didn't see anybody enter, they could have used invisiblilty but he would still be able to sense the body heat and their clan wasn't so famous that clans would send ninjas to steal information.

This only brought him down to one conclusion 'Black Zetsu' He thinks as he coats his body with chakra and steps into the flames, As someone bearing the All flames he doesn't need to fear flames as they have little to no effect on him, he decided to do this to better help train his chakra control

"All the scrolls are burnt" He says as he inspects the area, using his senses he could feel everything inside the fire had been burnt and turned to ashes

He didn't feel bad about the burnt scrolls as he had already memorized all the contents in his head, what he did feel conflicted by was how and why they were on black zetsu's radar

"I guess he saw us as an anomaly and decided to check us out," he says, moving away from the flames. He watches the clan members rush to bring buckets of water, while the nearby chunins maintain order, bringing a smile to his face.

"This just got troublesome" He grumbles letting out a pent up sigh, " now that we are ok his radar, it will be pretty dangerous as I don't have a way to defend against his intangibility"

"Looks like my work just keep on increasing" he mutters as he joins the clan members in fetching water already trying to formulate a way to prevent black zetsu's snooping

Five miles away from me the Hima clan base

"That is we close, it's quite shocking I didn't see that coming" Black zetsu says feeling quite shocked as he comes out the bark of a tree

"To think they had something like that… Seems like this clan really has some hidden depths. I'll come back later," he muttered to himself. Just as he turned to re-enter the tree, he sensed something above him. His movements froze, and he slowly looked up.

What he saw was a majestic phoenix, its feathers burning with a fiery glow, staring directly into his eyes.

"Zetsu, it seems you've started one of your shenanigans again," the phoenix spoke. "Let me warn you—stay away from that clan, or you'll incur the wrath of Lord Sagara."

And with that, the phoenix took off, leaving behind a stunned and shocked Black Zetsu.

"What the-"

Team Yamamoto

In the temporary stronghold of the team you could see Yamamoto on a laid mat with with bandages all over his body while akiko, ren, Yoru and Yasuke stay beside him with a solemn look on their face and bandages on some places on their body

Even though they had won the fight they didn't come out unscathed

"That was a very bad idea" Yamamoto says pain in his voice as he tries to sit up "We diviated from the mission and acted on impulse, we should have just taken care of the four tails and gone to report back" He adds staring at everyone with a guilty expression on his face "I have failed as a mentor and a leader I hope you all will forgive me for it"

"It's alright sensei we all chose to continue your not the one at fault" Akiko says as she looks at Yamamoto with a sad look not liking the fact that her teacher is taking all the blame

"Yes Akiko-San is right, you don't do anything wrong Yamamoto-San" Yasuke adds to from the side their display bring a smile to Yamamoto's solemn face

"Thank you, now we just need to rest a little then we'll move to the capital, we've already wasted enough time as it is" Yamamoto says and following his words the group moves accordingly with Yasuke and Yoru on patrol while ten and Akiko take care of Yamamoto

Two days Later

Daimyō mansion

"Nothing more soothing than drinking tea while watching the sunset," the daimyō says with a sigh, setting his teacup down on the table in front of him. He looks up at the setting sun, feeling a deep sense of peace.

"How many days has it been?" the daimyō asks the man behind him, his sense of peace slipping away as anger takes its place.

"It's been four days, sir. It may seem that they have failed the mission," the man behind the daimyō answers, his expression extremely neutral and hard to read.

"It seems they died. Useless bunch—couldn't even handle a tailed beast," the daimyō curses, his mood ruined as he stands and heads toward the couch inside.

'I don't think anyone apart from Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha can handle a tailed beast,' the guard thinks silently, but his face remains neutral as he follows the daimyō inside.

Just as the daimyō sat down on the couch, a knock broke the silence in the room.

"Sorry for disturbing you, my lord, but the previous group who was sent out has returned and is requesting a meeting with you," a voice from the other side of the door says, causing shock to appear on the once-neutral face of the guard.

'They came back alive?' the ninja thinks, shock and amazement becoming more apparent on his face.

"Let them in," the daimyō says, the shock visible on his face as he sits up straight, clearly no longer underestimating the clan.

"Apologies for our delay, Mr. Daimyō. Dealing with a tailed beast is no easy matter," Yamamoto's voice echoes as he enters the room, his team following closely behind.

"Yes, I understand. Please, have a seat," the daimyō says, gesturing to the couch in front of him.

"Thank you, but I'll have to decline. We've spent a long time on this journey, and we'd like to return to our clan as soon as possible," Yamamoto replies, unfazed by any potential anger in the daimyō's reaction.

"Of course, you must be exhausted. Would you kindly present the evidence of completion?" the daimyō asks, not showing any anger at Yamamoto's refusal—after all, this man had returned alive after facing a tailed beast. Who was he to be angry at such a man?

Yamamoto took a moment to search through his clothes before pulling out some red fur and carefully placing it on the table. "You can send your people to check the farmland; the signs of battle should still be prominent. This red fur is from the tailed beast."

The daimyō was struck speechless. If there had been any doubt before about whether Yamamoto had truly faced a tailed beast, that doubt vanished—leaving only shock and fear.

"What kind of reward would you like" the daimyō asks his voice shaky from fear

"What kind of reward would you like?" the daimyō asks, his voice shaky with fear.

"All we want is for our clan's deeds to be spread across all states, and a sum of one hundred million ryo," Yamamoto states. Akiko and the rest of the team show expressions of shock—they hadn't expected Yamamoto to ask for such an amount.

"Deal. The servant outside will give you the money; you may leave if you wish," the daimyō replies, beads of sweat forming on his face.

"Very well. I hope we meet again soon." Yamamoto bows before heading out of the room. But just before he leaves, the guard behind the daimyō calls out to him.

"Sir, please, before you go… may I know your name?" he asks, his voice also shaky from fear, though it carries a hint of respect and reverence.

Yamamoto pauses, glancing back at the guard. "Yamamoto Hima," he answers, then exits the room, his team members following closely behind.
