Chapter 22 - Guardian

Twenty-Two:

Akachi National High School

Break time, and right now, Chadd was in front of me staring at me intently.

"There are two possibilities why you're dreaming of me," he seriously answered after I told him about my dream, to be exact him into my dreams.

"What?"

"First, you feel guilty about me. And lastly…" He suddenly paused and it took him so long before he finished his sentence. "You just love me so much that–– ouch!"

I slapped his shoulder so hardly that it hurts him. "Stop joking! I'm serious about it, okay!" I madly stated while he keeps on rubbing his shoulder.

"That hurts, huh!" he complained. "But real talk, are you feel guilty about me? Or maybe, you were just really thinking of me before you sleep."

"I don't know. The truth, I don't have the time to think of anything including you, alright."

"Ouch! That hurts!" he said while holding his chest acting like as if I hit him that made me laughs. "Oh, now you're laughing."

"What! There's nothing wrong with that." He just laughs back. "Anyway, back to my dream. I don't know why I saw you in my dream."

"Well, it was just a dream, so maybe it doesn't mean anything, you're just too affected by it," he said and added. "Besides, you only saw me in a glimpse that's why you're not sure if it was really me. Or maybe seeing me in your dream means that you just manifesting something hidden deep within you about me and you couldn't express it in your waking life, so tell me about it… what it is?"

"I really don't know." 'And I am still confused about my dream, for a reason that makes my mind go crazy.' I silently added to myself.

Dream World

I deeply sighed after I wake up in this dream and once again I run towards the section one only to block by someone.

"Where are you going?"

"Il? What are you doing here?"

"I'm the first to ask you and I think you should answer first."

"Ahm…" I don't know why I do feel I cannot lie to her to the point that I should just keep in silence.

"You're looking for Sylvia or rather it was Al that you were looking." She stated rather than to ask.

'Al… does she mean Almos?' I silently asked myself before I deeply sighed again before I answer. "Yes, I'm looking for Almos." 'Because I'm so worried and I wanted to know what's going on with him right now!'

"You don't have to worry, he's already fine."

"Then, where is he?" I anxiously asked her.

"You can't meet him."

"Why?"

"He needs time to recuperate."

"What? But you just said that he is fine. Then, why he still needs to recuperate?"

"That… it's hard to explain."

"Go ahead explain it to me because I'm ready to listen." I eagerly answered and added. "Just please, be honest with me so that I won't be worry this much."

Ilmatar seriously look at me before she sighed and answered. "Okay, I'll explain it however, I cannot promise you if you'll believe it or not."

After listening to Ilmatar, I still couldn't believe what I just heard from her.

'Almos is what… a Guardian Angel?' That question is what I wanted to ask her and yet, I can't. But why?! Why I couldn't asked what is on my mind?!

"Are you afraid?" she suddenly asked that breaks my thought.

I look straight through her eyes and said, "Yes, I'm afraid to ask anything."

"There are events in our lives that are difficult to explain even if we can see them with our own eyes." she said. "And you've already seen his wings from one of your venture here in your dream world, right?"

Now she mention it, yes I've already seen his wings but because of those creatures and the darkness that scared me, I totally forgotten that moment.

"If so, is he my guardian Angel?" I curiously asked.

"Definitely not."

I was surprised by her answer. "What do you mean by that?"

"Because he is the Angel of Dreams, and he guards not only your dreams but the entire dreams of humankind."

"You mean, he can be seen in everybody's dreams?"

"Indeed. So far, he's on halt because of what he did just to protect you. But you don't have to worry or feel guilty with it, he did since it was his duty to protect and save you like the others."

"Is he hurt that badly?" I worriedly asked even though she already told me not to or not to feel guilty still I feel it so bad I couldn't let it slide.

"As I said, you have nothing to worry about. He's fine, although he needs some time to recover."

"Even so, I feel so guilty in the fact that it's all my fault, if only I can control things here in my dream world, he might not be hurt just because of me." I sadly stated as I tightly close my eyes to stop my tears to fall down.

Ilmatar pat my shoulder and said. "Don't blame yourself. He wouldn't like it if he knows that you're blaming yourself."

"I can't."

"Jeanne, look at me." I refused to follow her. "Just look at me, please." She pleaded that I slowly look up and open my eyes. "He is a Guardian and one of the strongest Angels that were sent into this path of unknown world. And you knew how dangerous dreams can be, that is why you have nothing to worry about him. Almos can totally revive in no time and you'll meet him when the right time comes."

'When was that?' I wanted to ask but I know it isn't appropriate for me to ask so I keep it to myself. "I hope to meet him once again." I answered instead.

Ilmatar smiled at me before answering. "Someday, you will. For now, you need to go, it's time."
