Apart from the occasional maid, no man would come to this floor. The footsteps clearly belonged to a man.
They were deliberate, not at all like a butler's way of walking.
Who could it be?
Just then, the footsteps stopped.
Ye Rumeng waited a while, but hearing no other noise, she tentatively continued forward...
The castle was semicircular, and as Ye Rumeng rounded a curve, she saw she was approaching the stairway and hastened her pace.
Suddenly, a door ahead of her opened—
Ye Rumeng stopped in her tracks, startled.
Then she saw a tall man step out—
Ye Rumeng's eyes widened, "Ya Shitian, why is it you?!"
Ya Shitian smirked with devilish charm, "Just like you, here for a visit."
He clearly had just arrived; she hadn't seen him before today.
Ye Rumeng didn't want to waste words with him and intended to leave immediately. But the man took a step forward to block her path.
"Miss Rumeng seems to dislike me so, trying to avoid me at every opportunity."
