It was meant to be just a kiss! That's what he'd promised himself. But things didn't turn out as expected. Once his lips tasted hers, an innate hunger clouded his thoughts completely shutting reason to him. All he wanted was to reach to that spot on her neck, and when he did, his blood boiled.
The itch in his gums was all it took for him to become a lost cause. All instinct left him and the only thing he desired was the feeling of blood around his mouth. Strangely, he had had more than enough earlier in the tavern!
But her scent lingered in the air, mixed with that of her blood. He felt his nails grow and dig deep into her flesh, his very eyes turning bloody red. And when he spotted the vein on her neck, his beastly instincts kicked in, over clouding his mind.
His fangs brushed lightly on her tender skin. And his fangs, he noticed, could elongate and retract at will. But that was a discovery to ponder on later.
