Having a dream.
Nich had never experienced it himself, that said, he was curious about it.
Sleeping soundly in your bed and then waking up... If that what should it be called, in your dream, Nich would have already considered it nightmare, but as it is, in dreams the thought process of an individual becomes slow, making it hard to discern reality from dream.
... Maybe that was the reason why he did not stand to question the identity of the place he was standing in.
All around him, were stars and galaxies, illuminating the night sky in a dazzling radiance.
Right now he was standing on a plain of...
Nothingness.
Its shape was indiscernible, when he looked down he saw nothing but darkness.
He was not falling.
Nich felt that something was amiss, but his attention was soon focused on a structure that stood in front of him.
'Was it always there?'
He could not know, but before he could linger on the thought, his mind became sluggish, making him forget that he ever had a thought.
With nothing to wonder about, Nich stood on the nothingness, the radiance around him made him dazed in its surrealism, and the darkness beneath his feet felt comforting.
A few seconds passed, then minutes and then hours.
And then, a hand came to his forehead, waking him up from his peaceful slumber.
"How about you wake up?"
He felt a warm and familier touch, waking him, he looked at his mother, who had a worried look on her face.
His mother, who looked to be in her late thirtes, still resembled her beauty from her youth.
She had sharp eyes that felt like she could see through any lies Nich can come up with, her features were above average, but her height was shorter than the norm.
"Are you sick?"
Asked his mother, with the same worried expression.
"No"
Replied Nich, who was in a strange state of mind.
Everything felt clearer and vivid to him, before he had trouble focusing his attention, but now he felt that his mental fortitude had increased.
"Then what a happened? "
His mother asked again, retracting her hand, and letting Nich sit.
"I had a dream."
Nich said, sitting up on his bed.
"Really?"
She looked suprised.
"About what?"
"Can't remember."
Said Nich, who vaguely remembered some details.
But he can't quite put his finger on it, of what he remembered, there were sources of light everywhere with the biggest source of light being undoubtedly infront of him, except below him where there was nothing.
He did not know what the dream was about, so he decided to not speak of anything, lest he worried his mother.
His mother looked at his face for a moment, thought for another and then nodded.
"Come, eat breakfast"
She left saying that.
'Time to go'
And like always, the food tasted delicious, his father like always, sat there reading newspaper, sometimes having small talk with his sister.
His sister was of 18 years of old, her hobbies were slightly different from his own, she liked adventures and singing.
Just slightly different from his hobbies, which were eating, sleeping and reading.
Ahem, back to the topic.
his sister had the beautiful appearance of his mother, she was quite popular in her school, along with her cheerful personality, she had lots of friends and admirers.
But of course, world only knew of the brighter side.
Only HE Knew of what goes behind that innocent face.
At the moment, Alice suddenly looked at him.
Nich flashed a smile.
Alice smiled back, revealing her pearly White.
Soon he left for school.
Like always no one paid attention to him.
But it was different this time.
Sure no one was interested in the now slightly better looking Scarecrow.
But the Scarecrow was intriguied.
Nich looked at the black borad in front of him with some intrest.
He was not having trouble focusing today.
That did not mean he could understand the incomprehensible equations written in the board, but now he could at least tried.
After a few minutes, Nich gave up.
It's still incomprehensible.
It seems that his studies from basics were lacking, due to which he cannot warp his head around the now advanced equations.
But hey, he was awake and about.
Counting his blessings, he looked around the class.
He was not ill informed of about his classmates.
He did knew the names of most people here, for his memory was sharp.
The guy that was sitting in front of him, looked out the window, at the ground.
And the girl sitting besides him was paying attention to the teacher.
Yes, weird she was.
The name of the guy infront was Mark, he was in school's football team, and he was a much valued player.
The name of the girl besides him was Aisha.
She was one of those protagonists of romance novels, perfect in everything.
Her family background was also rich and powerful.
That's all he knew of his neighbors.
Nich got bored soon, and looked out the window.
The time was passing rather slowy today.
And he fell asleep.
What woke him up was the school bell, signalling the end of school.
Nich got back to his house like always, on time.
Soon night came, and the moment of pain.
Nich braced himself.
Nich remembered what happened before he fell asleep last night, he was in a state of sleep paralysis and the pain continued beyond two hours.
The clock struck 12:00 pm, and then he felt...
No pain.
The pain ...was gone.
Nich was confuses for a moment, and then he realized.
There was no pain!
He shot up, excited.
Yes, the hateful pain was left him alone, and now he was free from it's clutches.
Nich felt many emotions, with the dominant one being of joy and pleasure.
He slept plenty throughout the day, so now he didn't felt sleepy.
Now, he can do whatever he wanted.
But before he could enjoy his freedom any further, a strange wave of drowsiness washed over him, making him lathargic.
He fell asleep.
And had the same dream.
