Maple Ancient City legend has it that the Maple Leaf Goddess resides here.
In the center of the ancient city stands the statue of the Maple Leaf Goddess, surrounded by a circle of red maple trees. The maple leaves are fiery red, and the branches are adorned with red threads and delicate little red plaques.
Beneath the trees, there is an old man dedicated to carving names, etching the names of couples onto wooden blocks and tying them to the branches of the red maple trees, praying for the goddess to bless their love with everlasting endurance.
Mao Beibei crouched down in front of the stall, looking at the rows of exquisitely smooth plaques.
"Young lady, would you like to have a name carved?" the old grandfather at the stall asked with a kind and benevolent smile.
Mao Beibei blinked her big eyes, "Old grandpa, is this really effective?"
"Sincerity is what makes it work."
Mao Beibei pursed her lips, "Then give me two. Carve the names Rong Yan, and Man Qing."
