Zhang Qiaolan saw how spineless Gu Hai was, actually lowering his hand and even a hint of timidity flickered in his eyes. She cursed him silently for his uselessness.
She glared at him fiercely, and frantically signaled to him with her eyes.
Gu Hai caught Zhang Qiaolan's signals out of the corner of his eye and couldn't suppress a cough.
He then said with a smile, "Gu Xiao, there's something your second uncle wants to talk to you about. You know, my company is looking to expand, and we need that Changlong plot of land. But I heard today that you've put it on hold, could you let your second uncle have it?"
Upon hearing Gu Hai say this, the old madam felt a fleeting twinge of disappointment.
