Shen Yunfang accompanied Director Bai down the mountain and only found the school leaders and professors, who were bent over studying something, by the biogas pool next to the earthworms.
"Xiaoshen, you arrived just in time. I just heard from the workers here that these pools of earthworms are specifically bred for feeding livestock," a professor asked as soon as he saw the two approaching.
"Yes, in order to add nutrients to the chickens and ducks, and to help them lay eggs sooner, we recently started using the method of feeding earthworms with earthworms," Shen Yunfang glanced at the several concrete pools in front of her.
There were a total of six pools, each about three meters wide and eight meters long. Five of the pools contained squiggling mature earthworms, which could make the faint-hearted feel queasy. The pool at the very end held earthworm eggs and baby earthworms, which would be moved to the neighboring pools once they grew a bit larger.
