Wang Dan peered through the window, only vaguely seeing her younger sister-in-law leave the yard before she sidled up to her mother-in-law and muttered.
"Mom, I think that IOU from the second sister-in-law is real. What do we do if she asks you to pay it back, Mom? How are we going to handle that?" Wang Dan looked genuinely worried.
"How dare she? She's now a daughter-in-law of the Li Family; does she still have the nerve to ask me for money?" Qiu Shuping bellowed with false bravado.
"I think she's pretty bold. You see how she was just now, with her eyes so wide like she was about to gobble us both up. If it really comes down to it, there's no telling what she might do," Wang Dan fanned the flames.
Qiu Shuping fell silent.
