Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Not Even a Fruit Basket

"Does Third Master have any involvement with Jinhe Palace's power?"

The butler was startled by Shi Yaoguang's question and said, "Madam, why do you suddenly bring up Jinhe Palace?"

Shi Yaoguang pulled out a tissue and dabbed the corner of her mouth, speaking with unruffled calm, "It's not a big deal, just that I reported Jinhe Palace for organized crime yesterday."

Butler: "..."

She reported them for organized crime, and it's not a big deal?

To Shi Yaoguang, it truly wasn't a big deal. After experiencing the Three Thousand Worlds, a mere Jinhe Palace was nothing to her.

That was also the reason why she didn't immediately inform Quan Jinbei after taking down Jinhe Palace.

The butler silently wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and then said, "I will report this matter to Third Master."

Pausing, he reminded her, "The powers behind Jinhe Palace are not to be underestimated. Since you reported them, they certainly will not let this go easily."

"I know," Shi Yaoguang said with a smile, "Look, my best friend has already been admitted to the hospital because of it."

Butler: "..."

Madam is unexpectedly fierce.

After briefly discussing the Jinhe Palace issue, Shi Yaoguang left the house.

Following her instructions, the butler sent someone to follow and protect her.

On the second floor, in the study.

"Third Master, Madam has gone out," the butler reported what Shi Yaoguang had told him.

Quan Jinbei was slightly surprised, "You're saying she was the one who reported Jinhe Palace?"

He had heard about the raid on Jinhe Palace the previous day, but didn't pay much attention to it at the time. He hadn't expected that the young lady had a hand in it.

The butler honestly reported everything and also conveyed Shi Yaoguang's demeanor, "Madam seems to not take Jinhe Palace seriously."

Quan Jinbei didn't seem surprised, "Otherwise, why do you think she dared to report them?"

Butler: "... You're right, Third Master. You understand Madam better."

Quan Jinbei acknowledged softly.

He naturally wanted to understand more about the young lady of his family.

Even without love, the young lady was someone he recognized.

In Quan Jinbei's view, Shi Yaoguang was different from Quan Sicheng.

The former, he had personally acknowledged.

The latter, was forced upon him by the old master.

The only reason he didn't refuse was that he found it uninteresting.

With such an attitude, it was natural that he didn't regard Quan Sicheng highly.

...

Shi Yaoguang was unaware that Quan Jinbei already considered her his possession.

She had already arrived at the city hospital.

From the moment she got out of the car until she entered the ward where An Siqi was, everything was unexpectedly calm.

Upon seeing her, a flicker of resentment flashed in An Siqi's eyes.

God knows what she was imagining, but she quickly suppressed that malice, "Yaoguang, you're finally here..."

Shi Yaoguang placed the two pounds of apples she had casually bought on the roadside on the bedside table. Seeing her action, An Siqi's expression twisted for a moment.

Who visits the hospital to bring fruit without bringing a fruit basket, instead bringing loose weighed fruit?

If she was broke, that'd be one thing, but Shi Yaoguang is a wealthy young lady.

The very reason they're called the wealthy is because they have money!

Yet Shi Yaoguang, so wealthy, had brought her two pounds of loose weighed fruit, which really choked her up.

Shi Yaoguang looked apologetic as she said, "I didn't have time to prepare anything, so I just brought you some apples. You don't mind, do you?"

An Siqi was seething inside, but externally she could only pretend to be magnanimous, saying it was no big deal, "We are the best of friends, I certainly wouldn't fuss over such a small matter."

"That's good then, I was worried you'd think I was being stingy," Shi Yaoguang's tone carried a hint of relief.

An Siqi chose the right moment to complain, "Why on earth would you report Jinhe Palace? Do you have any idea how much humiliation I suffered last night? If I weren't so lucky, you wouldn't be seeing me today!"

"Why do you think I did it? I was worried about you, wasn't I? The owner of Jinhe Palace is so dangerous, who knows if something might have happened to you while dining there?"

If it weren't for Shi Yaoguang's serious expression, An Siqi might have suspected her of making fun intentionally, "What kind of logic is that? Even if the owner of Jinhe Palace is shady, he wouldn't just mess with me for no reason."

"Instead, it was you who provoked him, which is the only reason I ended up suffering unwarranted disaster."

Shi Yaoguang blamed herself, "I got nervous when I heard some disturbing rumors and ended up causing you trouble."

An Siqi grew anxious, "Rumors? What rumors did you hear?"

Shi Yaoguang sighed, "I heard that the daughter of the owner of Jinhe Palace, who is also a fan of yours, is even one of the top three bosses of 'Three Thousand Worlds'. I was afraid that he had discovered your identity and was planning to cause you trouble."

"What?!"

An Siqi was startled, she hadn't anticipated such a twist. If the owner of Jinhe Palace's daughter was also her fan, didn't that mean she used her products as well?

Scared by the scenarios she conjured in her mind, and clutching her pounding heart, she hesitantly asked, "Then... the boss's daughter is okay, right?"

"I'm not sure about that..."

Shi Yaoguang said, looking at her helplessly, "I've told you before to avoid these dodgy deals, but you wouldn't listen. Now look, it has turned into a mess, hasn't it?"

An Siqi was fuming inside. Clearly, Shi Yaoguang was refusing to help; otherwise, the issue could have been resolved quickly.

Luckily, she was prepared, "Yaoguang, I know I was wrong, and once this blows over, I'm going to resign."

Shi Yaoguang nodded, "It would be better to resign. You're also a senior in high school this year; your studies are important."

Hearing her casual advice, a flash of jealousy passed through the depths of An Siqi's eyes.

Easy for her to say! If she had the backing of the Shi family, An Siqi certainly would choose to enjoy life rather than being in the spotlight through livestreaming.

An Siqi struggled to conceal her jealousy, trying to appear nonchalant.

"I get what you're saying. If I had your kind of support, I would definitely focus on studying instead of doing all this."

She lamented this and that before raising her hand to touch her stomach, bringing up her hunger with a tinge of embarrassment, "I'm a little hungry..."

"What do you want to eat? I'll call for takeout," Shi Yaoguang said.

An Siqi's eyes flickered, "Why order takeout? It's not very hygienic."

As she spoke, she shook Shi Yaoguang's arm, "Yaoguang, could you do me a favor and buy me some porridge downstairs, please?"

Shi Yaoguang, ever so frank, replied, "Takeout has the porridge you want to drink."

An Siqi's breath caught, and her expression darkened, "You're saying all this just because you don't want to help me, aren't you?"

Shi Yaoguang shook her head, her tone full of innocence, "I didn't say I didn't want to help you. Since you want me to go, I'll go."

An Siqi's face brightened at that, only to hear her say, "Siqi, your behavior today is a bit strange."

An Siqi's heart skipped a beat; she denied it with a stammer, "What's strange about me? I'm starving; just go, will you?"

Shi Yaoguang looked at her deeply, then finally said, "Okay."
